Afternoon ladies and gents. How do you vent your booth's outside? i have windows that open out but can't seem to find a long term solution for getting smells out and keeping heat in haha. if anyone has got any ideas or how you have sorted it would be appreciated. ty

It's going to depend on what sort of window you have, if you have a sliding window you can cut some plywood to fit and put a hole through it for the hose, or you might be able to find a piece from a "floor air conditioner", they sit inside and run a hose out the window. They come with a plastic bit with a hole that fits in the window, but they may not be common in the UK (perhaps Amazon?).
If the window opens out on a hinge things would be more complicated and beyond my experience.

I build in an outside timber shed (6' x 10') so vent straight through the side wall.... not much help if you are in the house.

If you have double glazing a hole in the wall maybe the only viable option.
Pic of the window would be helpful.

upstairs in house and drill is not an option.widows are open out type. im thinking cutting a plastic panel to the frame size and velcroing to window frame with the ventpipe glued in so window can be opened and vented but still keeping toasty warm lol.

Yes been through this with wife who didn’t want another hole in the house
I dangled my hose out an open window for a while like a caveman, then decided to fix that
Outward opening window and has a screen on it.
Made a hole in thin ply and attached vent hose to it, duct taped to screen and frame; Benchvent hose plugs in now.

I painted the wood black to match the house trim and thus it is nearly invisible from the outside

There is another alternative although a little pricey. Take the window ( non opening section) out get a guy to cut a circle in it then add a plastic fitting to it that you can attach your hose too. That way you could put a cap on the inside at any time to block it off. I would also make the outlet hose as short as possible to relieve static pressure caused through friction.

I have my spray booth in the garage. I just crack the garage door and have the vent go out underneath it.

It is on wood supports and then a spare floor tile with a cardboard base




The left bench is at bar height and the right one at table height...so the wood brings the Benchvent up a little so I don't have to adjust my chair height

I was going for a shelf and some pieces of 4x4 or something, so not that far away from your set up, great minds and all that Scott very helpful

I only started using my airbrush last August. I have a small, foldable and filtered spray booth that I used. To get anything outside I bought a small 12" 3-speed fan that I pot in the window of my basement room. It seems to work great. My wife, who can smell squirrel flatulence from across the street, never noticed that I was spraying paint downstairs. Mind you, I was only spraying acrylics ( Tamiya, with X-20A thinner and Gunze-Sangyo with Mr. Hobby Self Leveling.) so nothing with too strong a smell.

I can only use it during warm weather, as it gets too cold during the winter, up here on the Backside Of Beyond.

3D printer to the rescue I already had a vent together with the hefty extractor fan seen in the background here, it's used when laser cutting or printing with ABS. The other end can optionally be connected via magnets to an extension tube to connect to a spray booth (I don't need the fan operating in the booth). The exhaust just hooks over the edge of a window which leaves a small gap - that could be filled with something but I never bothered.
