Build overall so far looks great
I haven't used a fork detail set...I am assuming that is what you are doing.
Really increases the detail

Hi scott mate
yes its the upgraded fork set mate but first time using one, these things are awesome and so much better than the kit ones though a little on the expensive side

I'm pleased with how the CF decals turned out, its my first time using them. The front wheel guard was I would say the most difficult for me and took an age to get it to sit right

I still have a couple left to do on the fairing.

Thank you Kev
these were tricky with my eyes and fingers
I don't like the Tamiya pipes, even with a small wire in them they are a nightmare to fit under the fairing
this things tiny and a really nice addition (already fitted)

I messed up on the petrol tank

went on too thick and too quick I think

trying to do three things at once in a busy house. I only have the one mask as well so Will have to make my own. To be honest the black didn't go down as well as it should have, I should have cleaned my brush properly before use and took my time. So lesson learned. I will strip the tank back and try again

Looks great so far. I've not built a bike before but have recently bought one to try. I will definitely be following for tips.

Hi Mr B thanks

I think its my third or fourth bike up to now in 1/12 scale and they turned out ok apart from the trouble I had with the Tamiya decals especially in the older kits but this one is by far the best kit in respect of quality, the detailing is exceptional and very sharp. The tank and fairings had a few faint mould lines and the front wheel guard came in two cross section parts so the join needed some work. The pipes provided are stiff and better replaced. I'm going to clean up the tank and get some primer on it ready for the black...again

Hi scott

the hose clamps come in handy with lots of builds, I got them some time ago for a 1/20 F1 build and found them very useful across different scales.
I started the bike a little while back and now up to speed on the forum, I wanted to get some current build threads started so I can add to them in real time. I like to have a couple on the go, its more enjoyable as you know to switch between builds. All have been in plastic storage for the past few months due to work at home and now I'm back in a newly decorated man cave and sorting my way through stuff I never new I had

I need to set up my spray booth and thoroughly clean my airbrushes before I can use them but I need to make a new enclosure out of MDF and find a place for it. All my Paints need a good shake, nice mixing gadget Mathew posted, I have been using the jig saw and clamp method

Will try to do the last four CF decals for the side fairings tonight
I found it very tricky trying to get the decals to sit perfectly along every edge due to the decals being pre-cut and size accurate but I'm happy how its gone for my first attempt. I think I would try cutting CF myself next time.
Tips, tricks and comments welcomed

starting to add the pipework and cables. the pipes that come with the kit are stiff and hard to fit around sharp angles even with a wire insert so I will have to see what I have in my spares box.

It's coming along very nicely! How does the base hold the bike up?

Thanks scott

Its my own design.
Only having three working fingers and a thumb on my left hand I always struggled making models, in particular model bikes so I designed my own stand.
Its a great help with the build and allows me to work at any angle at any stage of the build hands free.
Glad you like it

Its been in development for some time but now a finished product© on other forums and internet. I'm not here to advertise it mate, I don't want to tread on any toes. I use one myself of course

the image has a watermark. Hope that's ok. The one I'm using is an old one, the latest version has had one or two alterations to the design.

I haven't had much free time to do modelling, bit here bit there but every little helps.

where have I heard that before
The Bike is held on the Bench by suports, depending on what build stage your at.

All coming along very nicely mate, carbon decals can be a real challenge at times.

Stand looks very interesting
