Print Projects

Post by aur0ra145 »

What print projects is everyone looking forward to, or have already completed?

Pictured is an airplane jig, that I absolutely love. "Boaty" my first 3d print project. And Jyn Erso's blaster from Star Wars: Rogue One. It's based off of a Luger design.

In the background you can see my paint brush holder and a Microsol/Microset/Ultimate setting solution holder. No more spilled Microsol!

Noticed some of your prints in your posts. That's a great looking jig, handy for multiple applications or tooling
Great job on your Erso's blaster also, are you going to print a stand for it. Love the brush stand and those micro sol-set stands are a must

Made myself a stencil for the inner boxes from PLA, Its a little tricky to get into the smaller areas with an airbrush but looks ok, I did it 4mm thick but would have been better around 2mm. Its a little bigger than I wanted, I was going to do it half the size but it ended up too small. Its very easy to do, just edit your chosen image in a vector program, I used vectorizer https://www.vectorizer.io/
You need to add cross members across some of the print so its all one piece.
I used a water based frisk drawing drawing ink as it flows very well through the brush and washes off under a cold tap for re using later.
I think it adds a little interest to a very plain inner brown box. Only took 4.5 hours to print   :)
