I'm not sure andy, it is flammable, but I'm not sure of the rules regarding luggage as I assume you can take perfume and aftershave aboard and they are both flammable?

mmmm fair point - It might be one of those where if I ask they'd say no - but it's no more or less flammable than perfume etc so should be ok really. Thanks for your reply though

Yeah thats my thought too, maybe ring the airline in question and ask

I tried that - Got someone who just said no but clearly didn't even understand what I was saying properly........

I'm pretty sure you can't take more than 50ml in hand luggage and if you do it has to be sealed and unused and/or in a sealed bag. I would have thought sealing it up in your luggage would be the best bet. The Ultimate thinner comes in a heat sealed bag to stop leakage so, you're half way there...

That's the most I can offer I'm afraid

some people have mentioned I might need paperwork to travel with it explaining what's in it and how it should be cleaned up in the event of a spill or fire etc..... sounds a bit much...

From what I've seen of the bottle sizes you may be asking a bit much there.....

The blokes lee is used too have no trouble with stuff that size, thats why they are often disappointed when its lees turn down the docks

I don't think there will be an issue if its in your main hold luggage. As you say, people carry bottles of perfume, alcohol etc in their luggage without much issue.

A bottle of Rum is just as flammable as the thinners and airbrush cleaner.
I don't see what the issue would be.
The sniffer dog or the particulate machine may go beep or bark and they'd search your luggage.
It's clearly marked on the label that it's a thinner or an airbrush cleaner.

If all fails it's up Lee's bum and away you go.

I dunno, but for a while Tamiya extra thin was as rare as Hens teeth in UK, but after a while we got it in again, perhaps a few pence dearer ... I'd certainly not want to risk getting turned away from a flight over innocent modelling items, as said if in doubt call them, but chances are most airport staff wont be clued about our hobby and give an ambiguous answer and leave it to the check out/check in staff to decide and err on safety for anything.

They all have different rules.
