Hi all,
I thought I would share my filter modification in order to save some money because these replacement filters are quite pricey.
I can't access furnace filters mainly cause they aren't used in these country much.
I bought this product 900mm x 9m ANDREAE Concertina filter PLEATED PAINT SPRAY BOOTH ARRESTOR 900mm x 9m .....yeah 9m's
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/170783669128
I could have bought the filter matting, but it's almost the same price and the advantage of this product is that it doesn't reduce airflow as it fills. Now once I cut to size I will have enough for years and years. It does take up some storage space while waiting to use it all.
Unfortunately my box got wet and is no more and it's a bugger to handle.

Now in order to use this ( always a catch to everything) I had to make another frame to hold it in place and as it is deeper I had to go looking for some extruded aluminum to do this and of course it wasn't available. In desperation I went to the local metal recycler and for a gold coin donation was lucky enough to get a 2m length.
I rather roughly knocked up a squarish frame then attached that to the old existing frame.

Squeezed in the pre cut filter and it was a squeeze. and wallah

Now all I have to do is try it out. I don't anticipate any issues. The next one will be cut slightly longer so I don't have to stretch it out to it's maximum length.
FILTER COST.....$5.50aud each plus $2 for the frame
Ps.....frame all done free hand with a hacksaw and a drill....used what I had on hand.
