Movie Genres
I started a list, and it just kept going, so pretty much all of them except for chick-flicks (no disrespect to any chicks here intended)
GoTo
It depends on the number of hours...
Inspiration
Actually yes. The entire reason I got back into making models was because of a movie. I rewatched
Mr. Destiny several years ago. Not the best film, but worth a watch if you haven't seen it. Regardless, there is a scene where the main character is making a model (as an adult), and it just kind of clicked with me.
Holiday Movies
I am a bit of a grouch, but I enjoy the standard holiday fare. I will say that
8-Bit Christmas might make the rotation...
Viewing Area
If I can stream it, I am watching it at home. I just picked up Paramount+ and learned it was worth it just for
Star Trek: Picard

1.What genres do you watch?
Just about anything that is well written, acted and filmed. For example, "It" part one from 2017. Magnificently done!
2. What's your favorite movie(s)?
The Mosquito Coast
Joe vs. the Volcano
JoJo Rabbit
3. Is there a go-to movie when you have a couple of hours to yourself?
For Love of the Game - I don't like baseball but this is a great movie
Saving Private Ryan
Apollo 13
4.Have you had any model making inspiration from a movie?
No
5. Holiday themed movies or shows that you have to see every year?
A Christmas Story
Christmas Vacation
Penguins of Madagascar in a Christmas Caper - Left over from when the boys were young
6. Any new releases that you want to see over the holidays?
We saw the new Ghostbusters. If you are a fan of the original, it's absolutely everything you could want from a sequel
7. Are you a Netflix/Disney/Cable tv/ or strictly movie theatre kind of guy?
I prefer the theater, just for the popcorn, but we have them all from me sitting in the living room for 5 months this year. I agree with BFRD, Star Trek: Picard was excellent. Everything that is great about Star Trek.

1.What genres do you watch?
Pretty much anything if its well made. I dont do gangster films because I dont want to spend 2 hours watching someone who should be in jail. Same with films about slavery such as 12 years a slave. The rage I feel against the white slavers would far outweigh any benefits of seeing the movie so I dont put myself into those situations.
2. What's your favourite movie(s)?
The Empire Strikes Back and Saving Private Ryan
3. Is there a go-to movie when you have a couple of hours to yourself?
Not really, I'm far more likely to kill that sort of time with a couple of episodes from a box set, or, god forbid, some bench time!!!
4.Have you had any model making inspiration from a movie?
Only Sci-Fi, although I did do a Band of Brothers Diorama with the troops riding on a tank in Holland when they come across a lady with her baby.
5. Holiday themed movies or shows that you have to see every year?
I have to watch at least 1 version of Dickens A Christmas Carol. Even the Muppet version is great.
6. Any new releases that you want to see over the holidays?
Dune and Spider Man - No Way Home
7. Are you a Netflix/Disney/Cable tv/ or strictly movie theatre kind of guy?
I have Disney+ and Amazon Prime but I love the cinema. One of my favourite treats is to have a movie day. Spending the day at the local multiplex to see a couple of films, big bucket of pop corn and a drink I could drown in. Heaven.

1.What genres do you watch?
Generally sci fi & fantasy, although we also watch action & war movies and some comedies
2. What's your favourite movie(s)?
The first two Star Wars - the impact that "A New Hope" had on a me as a 12-year old sci fi fan was something I still feel to this day; Empire Strikes Back evokes memories of Dad taking me to see it while we were on holiday in Devon that summer.
The Lord of the Rings trilogy - I remember sitting in the cinema during the opening scenes of the fellowship thinking something along the lines of "Bloody hell, they've actually done it"
Top Gun
Shawshank Redemption
And thanks to
@RangerNeil for reminding me about Carry on Up the Khyber - Behold the devils in skirts!
3. Is there a go-to movie when you have a couple of hours to yourself?
It varies, but at the moment it'd probably be Rogue 1
4.Have you had any model making inspiration from a movie?
Star Wars - I remember as a kid trying to kit bash an X-wing with... unimpressive results.
Top Gun always gives me the inclination to break out an F-14 from the stash.
5. Holiday themed movies or shows that you have to see every year?
Nope
6. Any new releases that you want to see over the holidays?
We managed to get to see Dune yesterday afternoon and it's definitely one to see on the big screen if you can.
7. Are you a Netflix/Disney/Cable tv/ or strictly movie theatre kind of guy?
We'll try and get to the cinema a couple of times a year if we see a movie that looks like it needs to be seen on the big screen.
We don't have Netflix etc but do have a fairly extensive dvd/blu-ray collection (guessing that's old fashioned now)

This is actually one of my pet hates at the Cinema, sitting through quiet sections of the movie and feeling like I'm sat in a cattle shed with all the munching going on around us

1.What genres do you watch?
I'll watch anything if I think it looks interesting. Comedy,horror,action/adventure,biographic,foreign/subtitled.Not too keen if it is dubbed though.Love Jackie Chan films.
2. What's your favourite movie(s)?
Now that's hard. Take your pick from The good, the bad and the ugly, Zulu,Das Boot, Tombstone, Cool Hand Luke, Dumb and Dumber,Blues Brothers and the 'proper' Star Wars films.
3. Is there a go-to movie when you have a couple of hours to yourself?
It varies, depending if I want an action, comedy or other.
4.Have you had any model making inspiration from a movie?
Sorry, but no. Not at that skill level yet.
5. Holiday themed movies or shows that you have to see every year?
It seems to be Christmas themed - Elf,Bad Santa and of course It's A Wonderful Life
6. Any new releases that you want to see over the holidays?
Not really seen an trailers for new films
7. Are you a Netflix/Disney/Cable tv/ or strictly movie theatre kind of guy?
I'd say Netflix. Have been looking at the schedule for British TV over Christmas and I am amazed at the lack of originality. It all seems to be Christmas specials of all the programmes you don't watch,so I think Netflix is going to get hammered this year

Seems I missed this one !! So here are my answers !
1.What genres do you watch?
anything from repertoire movies to action pack thriller to old black and white movies.
2. What's your favourite movie(s)?
Star Wars ! By far !!! I love a lot of movies but Star Wars for me is the best ! I have seen them thousands of times. Loved the new ones with the new actors, loved Rogue One as it was different but despise what is now Episode II. Was sad at the cinema at the end of the Episode IX as it was all my childhood and adult life that came to an end...Hard to explain the feeling as I grew up with them, the first one being the year I was born. I still remember the first time I saw it on TV and the way everyone reacted next day at school.
3. Is there a go-to movie when you have a couple of hours to yourself?
Depends on how I feel... Star Wars I always one, also superman or batman (Christian Bale). But I have a few other ones too
4.Have you had any model making inspiration from a movie?
Yes, when I recently saw the movie Midway. I fell in love with the US navy dive bombers planes, which before that didn't inspired me at all as I found the colors boring. Now have 4 kits in my stash of those subjects.
5. Holiday themed movies or shows that you have to see every year?
For me it's National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation !!! Love it and laughs at it every time since I was a kid. And something pretty rare, as I'm French Canadian, even the French version is funny ! Because most of time I hate watching translated films.
But I have a few others I like a lot like Mickey's Christmas Carol (now with my son), Rudolf (animated old movie), The Santa Clause with Tim Allen, Elf and another one that I don't remember the title but it's about a kid that dreams of receiving a gun from a show he watches. it's set in the 50's
6. Any new releases that you want to see over the holidays?
THe Book of Bobba Fett and the new season of Cobra Kai. I would have added the new season of The Witcher but I watch them in 2 days !!
7. Are you a Netflix/Disney/Cable tv/ or strictly movie theatre kind of guy?
Movie theater being so expensive now where I'm from I tend to be more a stay at home tv guy. I have 65 inch high end model tv so no problem with picture quality. I'll tend to go to the theatre if my girlfriend wants to see something or for big release like Star Wars or Avengers.
