Tamiya 1/24 Toyota TS050 Hybrid 2019

This is my first WIP log and I hope it doesn’t end up in a disaster:-)
I’m still not sure if I like the look of the car. It’s weird but for sure special and the complexity of the kit was intriguing me.
It’s a Christmas break project, but it will for sure keep me busy for a while.
Especially in combination with the Studio 27 Carbon kit, there are about 200 decals to be applied
I started off priming all the body parts. After that all the part have been painted white (Tamiya LP2). After this was dry the masking madness started to paint parts of the body in semi gloss black and black. For both I used the Tamiya Lacquer Paints.
Even though most of the interior will never be seen once the car is complete, I wanted to pay attention to it.
The upper part of the driver seat has been covered with carbon and several decals from the kit
Next I moved on to panel next to the seat. The instructions are saying it’s supposed to be black, but a lot of reference pictures are showing this area in a kind of yellow, almost Kevlar like look. So I decided to go for that as there is enough black inside
The highlight in that area is for sure the steering wheel. First I applied the decal from the kit. Over that I put the carbon decal from S27, which fits perfectly.
This car is really a pile of carbon with wheels
The inside walls of the monocoque have also been covered with carbon
Next is going to finish the monocoque and assemble it.
