Tamiya 1/12 Porsche 935 Martini

Post by Bdiddy »

Hi all,

its been a long hiatus since I last posted a build thread, lost mojo for a while and once I restarted again my laptop packed in and have only just replaced it.

Just finished the 935 last night, added a few extra details to it that I forgot about after the pictures were taken so apologies that they aren't seen.

Body painted in Zero paints grey micro filler and then Zero paints Brilliant White followed by Zero paints 2k diamond clear.

Various Tamiya LP and AK extreme metals used.

The build went smoothly as all Tamiya kits do but the large decals over the rear quarters were a nightmare.

Apologies for the mess in the pictures, I probably should've put some kind of plain background behind the car.

Thanks for looking in.

Hi Jesse,
Really nice job there, the paint and decals look very nice so they were worth all the effort you put in.
Some photos with a plain dark background will really show this stunner off.
I have just started this kit and am in the process of getting the body work sorted.
Regards,
Keith

Very nice work in such a large scale. I know some modelers are afraid to take on the large challenge as keeping it clean and detailed for the scale can be challenging. Well, it appears that you had no problem with pulling off another stunner.

I have this kit as well but have not started any part of it. Since you pulled of such a good one for Martini, perhaps I will change mine to Hawaiian Tropic, or Jeagermiester sponsors (apologies for the spelling). Here is one of it's relatives, also from Tamiya, in 1/20:

Looking forward to following your next build, keep it up!

Looks amazing! Never really been a kit that's appealed to me for some reason, but this is almost changing my mind and twisting my arm to seek one out.

thanks Gary! its a really well produced kit, pretty much falls together, it took me a while to find one here in Oz as they're sold out pretty much everywhere, not sure what its like over your side of town.

I've been away for a while myself and a bit longer than i thought. I have a bit of catching up to do.

What an absolutly cracking job you have done on the 935. Just top notch. The standard of work you guy's are producing is something else, very impressive.
