Global Scale Modeller

Started this a way back and getting to finishing her soon.
I slapped on a base coat of Mr hobby paints a 50/50 mix of h-318 and h-34, cream yellow and radome over a dark tan. Used some Panzer putty for covering the yellow and applied some light green...H-422.
I also fixed the tracks in place after applying a dark steel grey as the base, then proceeded to mix 2 solutions of a very weak chocolate brown then finished with a light rust colour also very weak. I sprayed these not trying to achieve a full coverage.






When trying to attach the end links on the track I found that while easy to assemble they did pull apart with any sort of pressure. So have to be careful of that issue. I might spray some extra varnish in to act as a bonding agent.

Time for the last update.
I've added the decals, pin washed,added a aerial and tow chain,weathered the tracks and a matte coat of varnish.
I was going for a basically clean machine with a coating of dust.To achieve that I added 3 drops of tan earth to the varnish and kept spraying until I could just see it one thin coat after another. It didn't take as long as it sounds as it was drying fast.

For anyone thinking of building this kit it goes together well as you would expect from Tamiya. The tracks just click together and generally hold together, but will pull apart if any pressure is applied. They don't need to be glued, but just careful.
My decals were fragile so extra care was needed.

Great result mate - the tracks look really well done & the idea of dropping some "dust" into the varnish coat has been filed away to be nicked & used, that's a great idea!

Thanks guys your all very kind. It's not perfect in my eyes, but closer than most I've completed and I'm very happy with it. AS I said to myself when finished and about to put it away. I could have attacked another couple of area's to liven it up more like chipping which I haven't attempted yet.
But as Francis says another off the shelf of doom and that much less pressure when I look around the room to get things completed. Only 4 left now and one pulled out to work on when I have time between projects and another is 80% complete with the paint on.
Maybe I might get another completed before Xmas plus the big scale build coming soon to a town near you.. . I really want to get started on that, but I'll wait till Thursday. It's got so much flash on it, lots of clean up to do.
I can't claim ownership of the paint in the varnish idea. I got it off a podcast (On the Bench ).....yeah I pinched it too...
