1/6 Resin Ducati / Martini Racing Bike

Hi all, I hope you are well.

This is a resin garage kit by go-to-garage and vispo. I honestly dont know anything about them other than they are a small run operation.

This kit was a nightmare to build, about 2 or 3 months, but in the end, with lots of extra detailing, filling, sanding, bending, swearing - (you name it, this model had to have a LOT of work to get it to fit together) - it eventually turned into a very nice model. The designers did a good job, but the actual production of the parts was not good. However Im proud that I persevered with the build, developing patience, developing technique, just keeping at it as I nearly chucked it a few times, but I knew I had to finish what I'd started simply as a way to make myself see something tough through to completion.

Brake discs were hand cut, filed and drilled from alu sheet as the kit ones were unusable blobs. Muffler is a tube that held xacto blades. Seat is leather. Windshield is from a soft drink bottle. Magnets and screws hold the fairing on.

Custom decals are laser printed decal paper, as the kit was for an anime cartoon series and I didnt like the scheme. Decals were thick and a nightmare within a nightmare. It came with a sexy girl rider which looks, ahem, sexy, but Im not into the figures so I just made the bike. It looks better on its own somehow...

This bike was my inspiration for the livery.

Looking at the kit it doesn't look at all like the kit you describe. So much kudos to you for winning through and the disc brakes look like bought ones.

Thanks digger. I knew the front discs were going to have to be something special before I even bought the kit, as they are a main feature, and the resin ones were not even round. I spent a lot of time filing and shaping them and adding the grub screws to make them look realistic. I was a bit harsh on the kit, it is a good design, but does not go together well at all. Definately not a kit for beginners.
