The back of the box shows the entire construction of the kit
so these instructions seem rather pointless

the kit is on one sprue
the hull detail isn't too bad, but with molded on tools
and here are the tracks and running gear
The building of this shouldn't tax me too much

Wow Ian!! I wish all kits were like that........ Ok maybe not all of them. But really looking forward to watching you build this lil guy!!

I found this very kit....£3 inc postage on fleabay yesterday..... Damn ..
Just over 4cm long and about 2.5 cm wide makes it fairly large......
I think it is a cool little flames of war/tabletop wargaming miniature...

Do us proud matey.... I'll try not to bury it under my stray popcorn ...lol..

This could get very intresting no where's my big bag of MM's like em better than popcorn.

Just lol'd at this thread - Ian, make sure you plan your build carefully mate. So many pieces, you don't want to glue the wrong piece in the wrong place!

I just hope you don't lose those instructions, you will never figure out where those parts go......

Ian, that's a small kit. Don't go blind building it.
Seriously, awesome little kit, I'm sure. I've never built anything that small. I'm curious to see it come together.

This will be a really fun build though Ian.. it's a great exercise in painting and you can concentrate on the diorama build.
Sometime 0 build= maximum fun.
I like this idea buddy. Just don't sneeze while you work or you'll never see that tank again.

Parts removed and cleaned up Although it is a snap fit kit I took the extra few secons to glue it I wonder if the painting will take any longer?

Mine took longer... a lot longer...and it was the easy kit (with a few mods)...

I was a little worried about this build as it was a little complex, but I was set up to burn the midnight oil so it was OK.

Seriously though, it goes together nicely and the level of detail isn't too bead for this size of model but I do NOT like the plastic at all. It was very shiny and difficult to trim smoothly as it didn't seem to want to cut, nothing like Zvezda aircraft I have built.

A little progress made

The tank is primed with Vallejo and then sprayed with Vallejo model air German grey, it looks a little dark (though the flash lightenes it a little) It will get even darker when I give it a wash to get the detail out, but I have been talking filters with Coen and Wappy to see how I could lighten it.

Before that I masked a couple of crosses onto the turret. I know this isn't the conventional way of doing it but I thought it would be easier than painting the cross on afterwards
The 'guards hut' is made from plasticard.

How did you perform the vacuum on your own scanning electron microscope to take this pics mate?
Agree with Radzy: in this scale you might be able to recreate the whole campaign!

Tonight I have picked out all the tools on the tank, I will not be adding any stowage because....................I'm lazy
It was then gloss coated ready for a wash tomorrow night to pic out the deeper details.

While that dries I have made a start on texturing the base using DIY filler and a knife. you may be able to make out a road running left to bottom
should get the wash done tomorrow and a matt coat the day after (leaving enough time to cure properly) then filter it and the tank will be done.

Grrr, an in ability to use the man cave for a while led me to brush paint the matt varnish onto the tank which has spoilt it somewhat
But, I'll let that be a lesson for me and forge onward

I have tried a filter for the first time, these were my weapons.
I'm not sure I like the result, maybe my mix was too paint heavy and it has pooled like a wash, that maybe because of the matt coat going wrong though. Any suggestions?

On with the base
It is painted now, not sure about the road colour and the green will be covered by static grass
Then onto the final piece of street furniture, made from wood of course.
Styrene/plasticard may have been easier but when I break it in half after painting I don’t want to have to model it into splinters.
It will need some more sanding before final painting.

I couldn't sleep last night so I had a go at the dio.

I sanded the pole a little as it had a few splinters that to scale would take your head off, I then re painted the white and masked it and the 'guard house'
Then the red
And remove the masking and do a few touch ups, rough as a badgers arse but its MY badgers arse and I don't care!
and yes I know the guard house has diagonal stripes and the post had horizontal stripes but please see the above comment about my badgers arse.

Only the static grass to add to the base and then glue everything down.

I thought I'd get on and finish this.

I flocked the grass areas of the base as the static grass I had was too big for the scale.

The guard hut needed a roof, this is made from sandpaper (180 grit if it matters)
I then made the tank a little dusty with these two powders
and this is the result...... pleased!

Nowto stamp a name and date on the stand before glueing the dio on top....

Representations, NOT replicas.....What a great saying and one i will adopt, i wish i could build in such a small scale, but im happy for those that can and i like how this one turned out.
