Why do you think people are put off from using individual link ?

I love them, very therapeutic!

It's cleaning the pins so they articulate that's the worst.....4 points on each one.

I've never built a kit with individual and articulating track links. I have no reason not to, but haven't had the opportunity yet. To me, there is no doubt that they provided a higher level of detail or authenticity. And it seems like there are some good and not so good products being marketed under the individual track link subject line. From what I've seen, the modeling industries engineering process had designed them in metal, resin, or plastic. And within those mediums they seem to attach together by gluing links over track pins (like the ones digger is showing), snap together links, and those assembled by inserting individual track pins. It will be interesting to see how these links your showing compare to those of your 1/9 kit.

Kudos to you digger for taking up the modeling challenge....again.

I feel your pain. I've done some Meng kits with individual links, I think the worst was 5 parts per link, each part requiring clean up. Now I buy Friul.
