WINGNUT WINGS KITS BACK IN STOCK

Post by Stokesy44 »

I know a lot of guys are really mad for WNW kits.

Andy's HHQ has a large restock due soon so get in before they're gone. How to pre-order is in the vid on the link below.

Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

GET IN QUICK, they are already selling out.

I have no monetary interest in this by the way. I just know how popular these kits are to you guys :th: :th:

Unfortunately - or perhaps fortunately for the sake of my marriage - it seems these are only available for shipment within the USA. The .COM web site redirects us Europeans to the .EU site - which makes no reference to them.

    Nothing really grabbed me
He said they were @ WNW retail, but seems a bit higher to me.
Almost all sold out, but another container went somewhere else
Wonder how much the container cost him

Looks like Hannants in the UK has also discovered a crate of WNW kits according to their website.

Stock due in a few weeks but listings showing as available for backorder if anyone is interested.

When WNW went bust there must have been a number of consignments at various places all over the world. Maybe some are now clearing customs and legal paperwork and filtering down to retail outlets.
Question is.......Who will eventually buy the moulds? The administrators will want to get shot of them asap to recover some of the financial assets of WNW.
The big Lanc moulds were in a manufacturing facility in China, hence the legal dispute. But at least it got to market despite this.

More than likely Peter would take a very large hammer to them rather than see anyone else use them. It's his nature from what I've read.

Digger, If Peter took a large hammer to the moulds he would probably be arrested. All assets belong to the liquidators until they are disposed of.
Atlantis seem to be buying old (and not so old) moulds and re popping kits. Maybe the kits will see the light of day again under another banner and put paid to the rank profiteering now going on by second hand kit speculators.

I was being a bit tongue in cheek trying to describe his attitude in general and your assuming the liquidators actually have the molds. They could be anywhere. It wouldn't be the first time assets were hidden away by people going into liquidation.
However I agree it would be to everyone's benefit to see those kits being produced again.

There is a brand new model company in NZ now called Kotare and they are ex WNW staff. If they bring the same kind of quality to their new co as they did at WNW we could be seeing new molds of new kits up to WNW standards.

            https://www.kotare-models.com/
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

Yes I was aware of Kotare, however I think there first kit is going to be a Spitfire.
I am hoping they will do more WW1 kits in 1/32 however atm I think they are aiming at the more popular subjects which is understandable. How long will we have to wait for type of kits WNW was famous for.....it might be a while.

Kotare had a presence at 2022 IPMS Scale Modelworld Show at Telford UK in November with their new Spitfire kit I believe.

Must have been either a early mock up or they have sold all current production and have to do a new batch, because the site says pre-orders.

I suppose it's a safe bet a bit like all the different tiger tanks out there. In order to give them some cash flow, at least that's what I hope it is and that they will get back to WW1 in the future.

Kotare I would guess would probably not go to WW1 stuff except perhaps a Sopwith Camel or Fokker Triplane that most recognise.
Reason being if WNW went belly up by chasing a niche market with large scale WW1 aircraft, why would Kotare do the same?
They will more than likely stick to tried and tested subjects with more mass appeal.

They might pursue a "Specialist" range once established. There would be a market for that.
As I understand it the company folded because COVID hit and Mr Jackson wasn't up for paying staff to do nothing on furlough so he folded the company??

Whatever happens its good to see another manufacturer on the market and, given the quality of the WNW kits, having so many ex-employees aboard can only be a good thing for the hobby.

I think there is a photo of Kotare's stand at IPMS Scale Modelworld 22 on the IPMS UK website in the general pictures of the show.

I had an e-mail from Hannants today, came in @ 12:16 telling me they had the Camel and the Roland in stock. I was logged on by 12:18 - all the Camdls were sold out and I got the last Roland..
