I am a bit hard on my CA glue bottles it seems
Perhaps pump pliers are not the best on frozen on lids



I bought a bunch of these micro tips on Amazon pretty cheap



But I was taking them off and putting the lid back on and it would get frozen everything time
Furthermore I was destroying both the lid and the neck of the glue bottle

On a ship forum site, some dude asks if it is ok to just leave the micro tip on the CA and not the real lid
I gave it a try over this past weekend and sure all is fine. I had to snip a tiny sealed bit at the end


I will leave this bottle like this and report back how it goes.

I find with the original tops I have to clean the end every time before putting the the top back on. This includes being able to see into the bottle before putting the top on and I don't have any trouble when I go to use it next. Although I may have to squeeze the bottle a little to get the bit still in the tip as it tends to still rise up after being used and I believe it's that action that causes the tops to seize.
I have used those tips before, but it doesn't take long to use a few and as you snip bits off the end tends to get bigger.

I have wiped the bottle top. It usually ends with me getting paper or finger stuck… or more likely both
I have put Vaseline on the threads before closing the lid…still freezes up

We will see how long the bottle stays workable and the glue active with the micro tips on.
The bottle is toast anyways as the proper lid is pooched
This was my cheapo Amazon CA so a good test bed for the micro top on 24/7

Ok no worries. Mine also has a short needle in the cap, but has still frozen until I got a bit annal about cleaning it.

I almost always leave my applicator tip attached to my CA bottles. The only danger is the bottle tipping over, although that is only a problem for the really thin glues. I personally think age is a bigger problem than air being uncapped. My dad uses CA a lot in his woodworking and keeps his CA in a refrigerator. Just FYI, he uses it as a sealant, not for joining wood.

Ya spillage would be bad...even fire potential as it is exothermic setting reaction
I am going to change that tip to a new one for smaller diameter and put the bottle in a wood holder

When I worked for the big A the eco-loonies tried this trick to stop the Prime delivery 40 tonners. One idiot had an accident with his bottle of glue and stuck his backside to the road. Ops wouldn't stop the trucks and the idiot had stuck himself onto private property so police couldnt stop the trucks without getting slapped with legal action for loss of profit. Fool must have laid there over two hours with trucks being carefully guided over him till police and paramedics got his butt off the tarmac. During which time everyone on break was lining the accessway offering guidance to both the drivers/marshalling agents and those trying to prise him off.

Also had the XR mob try shutting us down another time. One got through the perimeter and ran into the building to try sticking himself to something - gawd knows what as most things moved. Fast. He ran straight into one of our security bods. Who were all ex-Ghurkas.. The end of that was highly predictable.....

So this has been working
I change the tip every once in a while but the Ca has stayed fluid and active over the summer months

Good stuff. I use a gel based CA and the tip seems to be ok. Towards the end of its life the nib needs a bit of trimming with my hobby knife to remove gunk build up but by and large its self servicing for most of the bottle's life.
