BA-10 Armoured car

Hi all,
I've started another build as it's been a bit cold to spray varnish the other kits and the figure is on the back burner too cause it's a figure.
So I'm doing this as another fill in project and it's from Hobbyboss too.

I'm going to replace the barrel and wheels.

You seem to have a thing for armored cars(?). Is there a little bit of a Mad Max personality inside you? Regardless, I always like your choice of odd armored cars (not saying your odd). :thumb2:

I think I could really enjoy one of those in 1/16 scale with full details and crew.

Oh I'm definitely odd and well outside the bell curve...

Perhaps leaning towards armoured cars because I haven't had a lot of luck with getting the tracks right lately and it's a quickish build.
This wasn't even on the build agenda, but I found myself with nothing to do due to the cold weather limiting varnish applications. So I'm getting a back log building up at the paint booth.
I don't actually know if one of these Ba series of cars was ever manufactured in 1/16 in Styrene, but there is this 3d print version if only you know someone with a printer.... :D

This is a nicely made kit. The plastic is a little unforgiving and doesn't like to flex.
Nice engine

The chasis is the old fashion 2 rail system which really goes together without wanting to warp
Image

The rear axles are a pain with the small parts and easliy broken. I'm sure though another person who is a bit more delicate could do I better job than I made of it as they aren't all level and square. However I'm going to cheat and get them right.

Turret completed mostly

Outer shell mostly completed

Chassis is done , but I mucked up the rear drive set. All my fault with my clumsiness and 10 fat thumbs. If I was doing it again and I will do the Ba -3 is I need to anchor the pieces as I am placing them. Also there are 4 tiny and fine curved cross pieces that wrap around the axle which the spring ends are placed into. These need to have there locating nibs reduced by 1/3 so these fine pieces wrap and meet correctly.

The axles are the hardest part of the kit to get right and not break. The plastic isn't very forgiving and has almost no flex snapping without any warning.

SLOWED down some what lately Stokesy...it all averages out :)
Decided not to go with the resin replacement wheels, due to the suspension issues of my own making. I'll keep them for round 2 and the BA-3.
Got the Pe on and the hull plus a few bibs and bobs

Wheels are level

The under side looks suitably busy and correct.

All done.
Quite a good kit from Hobbyboss in as far as it goes. No real issues apart from the fiddly suspension, but thats to be expected.
I think I will build another at some point.
A little bit heavy with the wash in places. I got greedy and got ahead of myself and it was drying too fast for me.
Decals are for Russain Liberation Peoples Army.....aka.... Kaminski's Brigade.

Factoid

Kaminski Brigade, also known as Waffen-Sturm-Brigade der SS RONA, was a collaborationist formation composed of Russian nationals from the territory of the Lokot Autonomy in Axis-occupied areas of the RSFSR, Soviet Union on the Eastern Front.[1]

It was founded in late 1941 as auxiliary police with 200 personnel. By mid-1943 it had grown to 10,000–12,000 men, equipped with captured Soviet tanks and artillery.
