After 8 years, I can finally post the "reveal" for this one. Theres a short story behind it.

The build started as a thread for "In the navy SIG" 2015. There I started the kit but before I could complete it, we moved to a different apartment. At that apartment I didnt have a space to build or paint any models so the build was put on ice, involuntarily.

When we moved again, 4 years later, into our house I got a space in the basement where I finally got to build models again. So the build started yet again. I pressed on and was nearly finished after about a month. I was in the middle of a decaling session, putting on stencils when I got sick in covid-19. This was the summer 2020. I got really sick and was admitted to the hospital and had to stay there for several weeks. In retrospect, I was lucky that I got there in time. But let's just say my mojo disappeared. I did not enter that room in the basement willingly. It was like coming to a house where the owner had died in the middle of something.

My Sea Vixen lay on its back, waiting to be finished, in the middle of the session with a cup of water and a pair of scissors standing next to it. For three years, it just lay there until I got a surge of inspiration about a month ago. I could finally finish it and it was a fabulous feeling. It took some time to figure out what stencils I had put on and what not and my modelling skills were rusty.

It's strange to think that it took 8 years to finish, but I did never get tired of it for even a second. As a kit, it falls together pretty well. There are some strange bits, like the ejection seat being unusable as its way too small, so mine has resin seats. There's alot of inaccuracies of course, but I dont really care that much about that. The finished thing is actually not that dark as it turned out in the photographs. Oh, and there was ALOT of dust on it after 3 years in the open but I managed to wipe away most of it. Anyway here it is, my entry for the In the navy SIG 2015 :cheers2: :

Very cool plane! I'm glad you made it through the covid. It put me in the hospital for 17 weeks.
