Xmas Goodies

I know I've rushed the boat and causing waves, but we are having a partial early xmas as we won't be home and can't take the pressies with us.

A jar of choc nuts, Baileys and these lovely tools.
Dspiae scribing tools.

Image

I opened these with a lot of excitement to the missus disgust more than I displayed for a packet of socks and boxers pj's..... :thumb1:
After close inspection I discovered I can't actually fit the tool to the handle because it doesn't come with a allen key....my god how silly is that. Now I have to try to hunt one down and the one that comes with the nipper is one size too small. Well of course it was who ever heard of standardization.
So anyone thinking of these bear that in mind and other than that little hiccup they look very nice.
Image

Oh and the handle could do with some grips I suspect it's going to be a issue.

Merry Xmas everyone.
:cheers2:

Oh and we are off to Cairns on the 24th and 2 days a go it was like this including the airport which is Australia's 7th busiest...usually
Image
1000mm....that's freaking huge

But these blighters are as happy as
Image

A crock or two was seen exploring the new waterways that became available.... :wtf:

My nice old Aussie patient calls the crocks "Salties" He's a great, hilarious old guy

Good jump start on the Christmas thing, mate
I don't have anything big coming this Christmas like I usually, just bits and bobs
Trying to keep the spending down a bit with our taxation, inflation and interest rates on the warpath of Canadians

Maybe its just the angle but that looks like a hell of a gun! I wonder if the designer was compensating for something?

I was going to show my new files, cutting tool, paint shelves, tweezers, punch set, hammer, and more, but my wife intercepted it from Amazon and packed it up for Christmas day. Seems I'll have to wait till then. I'm trying real hard to stop buying new kits as I have well over 100 already. While some of them are for trade to get other things I want, most of them are to be built. I'm being overridden with guilt when buying new ones until the old ones are completed.

Who am I kidding, a got some stuff on order and will show it upon arrival.

Well as an early Christmas surprise, the brilliant Piper Puppy decided to chew up some of her drying towel overnight and lodge it into the exit to her small intestine. Puking everywhere and not able to eat so off to emerg vet center middle of my last work day and a surgery to get into her gut and yard the blockage out….CHA CHING $$$$$$

Image

She stays another night until her bowels are working
Doing better than I thought, but very drugged in the photos

I have ordered her an altered neck doughnut

Image

I did get the tree lights working and the girls decorated it

Oh poor Piper !!! My Cléo used to do that... first time she had eaten the baby towels.... on Easter weekend ! Cost 5000$ because of that stupid weekend during night time. But afterwards, hope it doesn't become like that for you, it became an habit for her ! so we had to be very careful. She was operated 3 more times !

at least she's fine ! that is what counts !

Looks like Piper is recovering nicely. That Meng Red Barron kit looks like a great kit. And you can never have too many hobby tools either.

I would be surprised, but I'm not when it comes to strange or unique kits being purchased by digger. The tanker standing in front of the kit looks like he is posing for a cigarette commercial; just needs one in his had and a pack in the other.

For me I really didn't get any of my kit orders just yet, but I got to unpack the items my wife wrapped.

- a new punch set, may home made set was getting severely worn down (made of brass). This is a step up.

Image

- And a quality hobby hammer to go with the punch set.

Image

- I've always purchased the cheaper file sets and replaced them regularly. This time I went for something a little better.

Image

- Jarrod thought I could use this when looking for those small parts that flew off or sprung from my tweezers.

Image

- Speaking of tweezers, here are more for me to customize and use

Image

- Lets not forget a new side cutter (the older ones are showing their age)

Image

- And finally after some procrastination, I purchased several paint racks to organize my Vallejo, AK, etc. paints.

Image

Merry Christmas everyone!

Nice haul Ben and Jarod's gift was very thoughtful.

I'm glad Piper got to come home! No one can convince me that dogs don't smile. She looks so happy!

I only got one modeling gift. A 1:72nd Millennium Falcon (what's an aluminum falcon?)

I also received a lot of 1:1 tools and items for car and garage projects. My shaky, uncoordinated hands can handle these for now, especially with the help of my sons.

I got these cool mini woodwork tools. They are sharp and work excellently in modelling

Then I got my youth back with a frosted tips golf visor and hair. I may wear this 24/7 cause otherwise I am bald as an egg

Those little tools look quite useful.

I remember my dad wearing a full on wig occasionally when I was a little kid, so one, he wasn't fooling anyone and B, he wasn't fooling anyone. It does work for you though Scott!

Those tiny wood working tools look like a hoot to mess around with. Glad the pup is doing better, our Goose (she is in fact a Golden Retriever) ate a rope that cost us a small fortune for the surgery to remove it. Thankfully Goose fully recovered quite quickly, though she's not allowed rawhide bones ever again and shall have oversight for all stuffed animals she plays with.

Got a few modelling things this year. The wife decided to buy a smoker for me. Which, I'm quite excited about, and it's more of an "us" present, as she'll eat the food too. I did get the starter box and some small expansions for Bolt Action which is a WWII table top miniature game. It seems to be MUCH cheaper than Warhammer 40k, and the rules are much simpler.
