Hi all,
My name is François, a french speaking (but by lingual) Canadian. About 2 years ago, I decided to rekindle with modeling after a close to 40 years pause. Since restarting, I've done a few wooden boats both from kits and scratch built, a metal plane and some old cars. My current projet is the 1/12 scale Bentley Blower from Airfix, yeah, I know, another Bentley... But being a retired mecanical designer with over 30 years of automation and robotic machinery design under my belt, I tend to make my builds in a slightly different way. I love anything mecanical so I try, whenever possible, to make things move and to bring them as close as I can the reality. I will stard a post on my Bentley build, not from the start mind you, but as it stands now.
Thank you
Francois

Hello Francois and

to the ISM forum.
When you get a moment please check out the forum guidelines which can be found --->
here
We'd love to see your work & progress but in order to post photos you will need to host them on an external site such as Flickr and then link to them from the forum. Unfortunately the forum currently doesn't have sufficient capacity or bandwidth to host directly uploaded photos.
There is a quick guide on how to use the Flickr integration on the forum --->
here and a couple of step by step guides in
here
As well as the forum boards there is a really useful Modeller Toolkit available which can help with paint matching, paint thinning, glue types & a scale calculator that can be found --->
here
We also run a number of group builds & special interest groups through the year so feel free to enter any of those that you like the look of - once they're set up they can be found --->
here
Otherwise take a look around and join in, and if you have any questions feel free to ask.
Have fun!

Welcome to the forum, great to have one of our transatlantic cousins joining the site.
You'll have to put up with the occasional Canadian joke (being over polite, it snows all the time etc) but looking forward to seeing you post your work. Build threads are the life blood of the forum so get stuck in. Post your own stuff, jump on other people's threads and join in with the banter. We're sometimes serious, sometimes not.
We sometimes talk like children, other times we can get into some serious discussions, but its all good and positive. We kind of buck the trend for the internet!
