I picked up this kit for a group build on The Mediocre Modelers group on Facebook. The group build is specifically for F4U Corsairs. I am looking forward to the build!

Very nice kit. You cant go wrong with a Tamiya 1/48 WW2 fighter bird. I've built one of their Corsairs and it was a dream.

TOTALLY forgot that I created this thread...

Got the cockpit squared away.


Fuselage built and canopy masked.


Primed with Ultimate grey and Painted with Mission Models MMP-062 USN/USMC Sea Blue (if you look closely, you can see a nice propeller and some rockets painted up)


I should be able to get some clear on soon and get decals going!

Last week I got the decals laid down after a coat of Tamiya TS-13. A combination of Microsol/Microset and Tamiya Mark Fit Strong got them to settle in halfway decent.

I put the finishing touches on it yesterday! I am pretty happy with it.
