Global Scale Modeller

Oh well - a leap into the abyss for me - never done an Egg before. So - a Meng Tu-2.


For starters - this is the first time the instructions have been printed on the actual box and not an included leaflet:




Simple sprues - a welcome break after the last few builds:


First step was to add the tailplanes to the fuselage:


Then a coat of Russian Green on the uppers:


And then Sky Blue on the underside. I've made a start on painting the undercarriage and the props and bombs:


Next job is a coat of cockpit green in the interior, finish painting the little bits and then - assembly!!!

Very cool, and it doesn't appear you need to mask the canopy. That's a huge win already!

I was thinking that very thing myself! I tried test fitting the upper canopy amd it was a nice snug fit into the moulded frames.

Exactly what I was thinking!

Paint has gone down nice. You know its a good fit when the instructions all fit on 1 page

Just got a bit of tidying up to do now. )










I rather enjoyed this one - lessons learnt, though, include masking the locating pegs when painting as I had to scrape/sand them down when assembling.

Very nice work Neil. To me the Meng kits actually look a bit more scale(ish) than the Hasegawa ones.
