WOW! I actually still have this kit unbuilt too. I think I got it in the 70's. Did yours come with some figures too?
You are totally right in that it is not up to current model standards straight out the box. But it sure looks like your taking that in stride and making some wonderful improvements.
Ben
Thanks ben. It has 2 ground crew and the baron himself smoking a cigar. Prob the same kit.

Oh boy ! that old of a kit from Revell !

It's a good recipe for problems !
Great start ! Can't wait to see the following posts !
I found it a really chill kit to build and had fun. Yes, there are issues, but an easy build. I imagine there are millions of these things gathering dust around the world.

Its finished, only took about a week and was a great fun build, really got my mojo back after doing some tough kits.
Im going to give it to a friend who likes planes.
Here's some pics, I'll post final photos when I get some daylight time over the weekend, the indoor halogen was very harsh.
tape and paint to recreate the fabric over the frame. doesnt look too bad.
decals were absolute schwinehunds, all clear silvered, so a thin red paint over the whole thing did the trick.
aluminium wire for the foot step and handles
guns, scrapped the plastic forward of the breech and added drill bit for barrel and some pe mesh for the protective cage.
Tiny loop of wire for forward sight
seatbelt from masking tape and aluminium baking tray foil
flares from masking tape and aluminium wire
