1/12 Suzuki RGV-T racing bike - Tamiya with super detail set

Post by cor »

Hi all. Im in full bike mode it seems. This is a nice kit by Tamiya and I went all out and got the Hobby design super detail up set.
Been coating the swing arm and frame in alu foil. They come in a slighty matt chrome, Gleamy Metal the box says..., but its a bit too shiny.
The chain is very fiddly, but looks just like a real chain, really nice stuff.

Heres some pics.

Thanks guys. Its my first time with a comprehensive detail up set like this, and am finding it very fiddly. But, yeah, it really kicks it up a notch. All the wires are scratch added, from my experience with the big pocher ducati. I also added lots of weld lines to the radiators, some gundum decals to the elecrical boxes, and some heat shrink tube to the radiator pipes.

Got the exhausts painted and attached. They really add some wow factor. Photos dont do the thing justice.
Im going to display it with the rear cowl / seat and petrol tank on, but not the main fairing. Would be a shame to cover up all the detail work.

Thanks Kev. I could probably do a better job of the detail up set though...I seem to be rushing through it and globbing up the super glue here and there

Heres some more pics...

Thank you. A good kit and the detail up set made it good before I even started. Still lots of room for improvement...
