Airfix Gloster Javelin

Post by Garion77 »

Hello !
Well this one as been sitting on the shelf for quite a while !! I worked on it the last time one year ago putting on the varnish... and time before that.... another year ! :eeek:
The kit was quite fun to build. Had the Eduard Big Ed kit for it also ; that's why you see the airbrakes. One major fit issue with the engine intake. Had to saw them ! and that's why they are engine covers at the front, to mask the ugly inside because of that.
Also one other issue... one part of the canopy had liquid mask since the last session...so one year...and unfortunately it stained it. I did my best to make it look better... but didn't want to spent to much time on it just to say I finally finish it !
You'll see the underside is quite dirty compared to the top. Well for those think it's too much... made from pictures of my actual build in service. But a bit too dark still. And I have to get a few oil colors in better quality.

Looks a nice build despite the issues and the time taken.
Congratulations! :cheers2:

Garion77-Very nice build. Good decaling and I like the upper camo paints lines.

A very nice build, camo is great as the green has that subtle mottling and the paint is so smooth. Real shame about the canopy, cause it looks so clear and well masked.

Agree with Digger about the quality of the paintwork
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.
