Revell Spitfire MKII 1/48

Post by ScaleArmorBuilder »

First plane ive built in a long time.

Image

Pretty basic as far as details go. Raised panel lines, gaps between wings and fuselage etc...

Im happy with how its turned out so far though.

It certainly does look good. Was the camo done with an airbrush or paintbrush?

Its hand painted as I don't yet have an airbrush.
Three coats of green and two coats of grey, all Vallejo Model Color.

Nice to see a MKII Spitfire...not modelled that often usually the other variants such as the MKIX or MK1 is most favoured by the kit manufacturers but having said that, the new Revell 1/32 'new tool' Spitfire due for release in early 2014 is going to be a MKII by all accounts.

Nice work on the brush painting camo...Vallejo Model Colour is a good paint, just bought a stack of it myself :th:

Well the canopy pieces didn't fit together at all so Ive made the canopy in the open position.
Putting all the decals on now then a coat of future before weathering.

Tip! Micro Set and Vallejo Model Color don't play nice together...
The Micro Set tends to soften the paint so be careful...

Thanks. Still need to paint the tail stripe, forgot about it until I was putting the last decals on... :wall:

Still might finish it today. Hope to be able to stop by the hobby shop and pick up a kit for the Panzer II GB.
