I got an email from Kotare today - their next release is a 1/48 Halifax BII - and will be limited to a run of 7000 kits with #0001 and #7000 being auctioned for charity first 1,000 to pre-order will be named in the instruction book. All those pre-ordering will be able to take part in discussions about the forming of the kit.
List price is US$ 185 and $46 shipping.

    In all likelihood it will be a stunning kit and the idea of getting hobby enthusiasts involved in the evolution of the kit is brilliant.

    Kotare are obviously doing well, they're not cheap but you cant argue with the product.

    I built a Matchbox 1/72 Halifax, must be 40 odd years ago, so this bought a mini wave of nostalgia as I looked at the artwork.

    I would say 1/48 for this subject is perfect, big enough for superb detail but not too large in both size and price to deter people. Interesting choice of engines too.
    Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good. :doh:

    Interestingly on their Facebook page they say if this is a success they will look at introducing a 1/48 Short Stirling!!
    Now THAT would definitely be worth having.... :)
