I just like this pic because it says so much and shows so much up close of the underside of the aircraft. I think it's a spit, but not really sure.

Its a Spitfire Mk IX and that's Johnnie Johnson on the wing.

I could tell you why its a Mk IX but no one likes a know it all! :th:
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good. :doh:

    I used that same photo when weathering a typhoon. Found another, in the same book, with guys standing on a wing in mudboots, thick mud all over the wing.
