Another one where the original design means you can't tell if its a real kit or an Egg kit

I got the wheels done, and test fitted. The poly caps do not hold the drive wheels on straight so these may get glued on.



After that I drilled out some of the parts that should be hollow.





I glued a few of the bits onto the main deck.



I hope to get a bit more done later this evening.

Dare we ask exactly how you know this???

It took me a while to get to painting since I had to clean a path to my spray booth!

I now have everything in Mr. Surfacer 1500 Black.



I will need to pick out a green from the shelf and try some modulation.

I got the base paint down. I went for visual interest instead of realism, so some parts are steel where they should be green.

I used a military green with a drop or two of yellow for the base paint. I then lightened with more yellow for a 1st highlight. After that I lightened again with light gray.







I used a reddish brown for the tracks.

I got almost all of the decals on. To be fair, they were all on at some point. I looked down and found that one of them was missing. I found it a couple of hours later, 3 rooms away.

Your lucky to have found it, I'm always losing stuff. Still haven't found the decals for my Pibber although I did find a missing road wheel from a build 3yrs ago

I had a productive day. The first pictures are from the aging step. I used a sponge and the green paint with a little yellow. I didn't mix it up perfectly so there is some modulation. I dabbed most of the paint off then went over the decals.







Next, I mixed up some Red Brown with a bit of Nato Black and did some chipping.



I then went in with a fine brush and painted some Nato Black in some of the larger chipped areas. Over that I added some Enamel Rust effects.



I have a lot to learn with the technique, but for my first real try at layered chipping I think it looks great.

I added a coat of Testors Dull Cote and then added a dark pin wash.



I am calling this one done. I’ll post finals with the big boy camera tomorrow.
