The Friday Diatribe JUNE - What's best for a good sesh?

Well folks, its June already, the year is flying by.

The subject of this month's diatribe is as follows:

What is your perfect modelling session?

Image

Do you like music to be on, maybe some death metal or classic rock? Maybe a documentary on TV or a movie you can just have running in the background?

Do you have a favorite drink you like a glass of? Something to take the edge off and stir those creative juices?

Is the build phase of a kit your happy place or is a painting session your idea of perfection?

What's the best time of the day for a session? A cheeky one first thing in the morning or after work, maybe as a way to unwind? Weekends only or any time you have some free time?

Fore me I need something on in the background. My favorite is a good documentary, either on the TV or on Youtube. There are some great historical podcasts on YT and they're brilliant for listening to while working on the latest kit.

A nice glass of red goes a long way but I'm equally happy with a Coke!

As I'm recently retired, there's plenty of time for the hobby. I try to get some time in each day as I'm enjoying the hobby right now and its also good for my mental health

So what about everyone else?

My build area is upstairs so no TV - I'll pick a playlist from YouTube or Spotify on the phone then put the phone on a shelf under the bench and just listen.
If we've got them in the house I'll take a can of Pepsi Max up with me - if not then a bittle of water.
Also retired - but my time at the bench is limited - we have two dogs who can't be left alone without the house looking like a demolition derbys taken place and the wife is out with her friends every morning till at least 13:00 hrs. Time she's got back and lunch is out of the way its usually around 15:00 - and then dinner has to be at 19:00 so thats my widow for building. Unless she goes out again.

I try to get some time in on a Sunday afternoon and maybe a hr at night if I'm in the mood.
Typically I will set the phone up and put some sort of show on if I haven't got the spray booth running. It's a bit distracting and I don't always get a lot done is the down side. I'm more productive if I put on a podcast and only have to use my ears.
If I'm building a new kit I can take a drink in, place it down and then just totally forget about it until I'm packing up.
What's bad for my progress is coming in and browsing utube or looking around on alixpress for kits or accessories and then nothing gets done.
:cheers2:

I generally get my bench time in dribs and drabs - to be honest it's bliss to get a uninterrupted hour!

I don't tend to watch stuff very often, but sometimes I do listen to a good audiobook or even a bit of ambiance music from youtube. Sometimes though, I don't listen to anything and just enjoy the peace.
