S Models 1/72 Pz.kpfw.11 Ausf .C x2

Post by latkin »

Hoping that no one minds me entering these rather minute and simple builds amongst all the other bigger, better and detailed builds. I was in need of a simple build as a break away from the figurine build which is so poorly moulded every part of it needs work. It has come very close to being binned and a break away from it may, and I mean may, help me go back to it.

I have not built a tank yet and have no idea how to go about weathering a tank. I had not heard of S models before but saw this model of the Panzer 11 and thought why not and as it had 2 models in the kit and being a simple build, thought that this would be an opurtune time to try weathering a tank. I thought I might try a dusty weather of one and a more muddy one of the other. I have an AK dust effects kit that is just sitting there so this gives me a reason to try it.

It seems that S models does a large number of 1/72 AFV models to try such as the Fiat CV33 L3/33 Light Tank, L3/33 Lf Flame tank & Trailer and the Hotchkiss H38/39 French Service and being cheap, they would be a good option to learn some weathering techniques on some very interesting models.

Here are the sprue shots.

Sorry about the sideways photos. Working in Photobucket drives me crazy. They look OK in the slideshow. You get 4 different markings with the kit.

The kit comes with some photoetch and metal barrels which is a nice touch. I will upload some more photos soon of some of the fine detail that this kit has.

I have been given a PDF file that I can upload if alowed called "German Light Panzers 1932-42 by Osprey -Vanguard It is 40 pages long and has an absolute wealth of information, including colour plates on the Panzer1 and 11. Is it OK to upload this file?

Nice kit! The PE and metal barrels is a nice touch and is awesome that its included in the kit.

As for the book I would think that its copywrite material....
Although I have found similar books online for download Im not exactly sure its legal.:

Looks like a very interesting kit, even for me! I want to build more 1/72 scale (at least i always say that but never get round to do so).
I will follow with big interest :cheers2:

I like the look of these, nicely detailed and a good parts breakdown. :thumb2:
