Hi guys 'n gals, an experimental build here, it's an old kit as you can see...
Don't look at it too closely, it's not gonna win any prizes, it's just if I could do chipping. I think it turned out ok, I'm quite pleased with it...
I know some of you lot don't like heavy weathering, that's not the point here...
The canopy is a shocker, do didn't I bother...
It's not finished as I might get a little wash on it...
As always thanx for looking.....

Very nice worn effect, must have operated from one of those small island airfields
Great freehand numbering on the tail - mine don't come out anywhere near that clear

Thanx Gup, It wasn't meant to be that heavy really.
She would look more realistic in some sort of diorama I guess, a crash landing maybe, what do you think?

Well... if it's not a 'crash landing' on US carrier that is a good idea

Or on some forgotted airstrip somewhere on Pacific isles...

That's an interesting old kit. The chipping works v. well and the plane came out great really, canopy aside. Did you have the kit lying around somewhere all these years? I can tell by the wheels that this is an old-fashioned cast, but did models come with decals back then?
Cheers

Thanx chaps, means a lot that you've commented....
Ludi... No mate only bought recently when I came back to the hobby, and yes mate it did come with decals, but I fancied painting them on, didn't turn out to bad.... Actually there is something about old kits and this ones older than me!
Andy.... It turned better than I thought mate. Japanese planes lend themselves to this sort of abuse don't they? Anyway stop embarrassing me, I made it up as I went along
Thanx again, it's a real confidence boost......
