Dragon 1:35 Grenadiers East Prussia 1945

Post by andreb87 »

hey guys! i finished my first 1:35 figure set. for me it was something completely new and very difficult. especially the eyes and the face. i'm happy with the camouflage and the equipment but i feel like the eyes are starring at me :( i really have to improve my face painting skills! does anyone know a good guide or a book? hope you like it! :cheers2:

Very nice, these figures look great and the camo is spot on  :thumb1:

Any plans to use them in a diorama?

First effort? That's a cracking start! Looking at the camo, you certainly have top-notch brush skills. I know what you mean about the eyes, at this wee scale less is definitely more! There are lots of great tutorials on the web - just do a search for "painting 1 35 figures". You will see lots of approaches to the face. This is a good one - simple to follow and highly effective...

thank you guys! oh that link is nice! i already searched for figure painting but most hits were for 75 mm or bigger figures and were very complex and time intensive! i will do the faces of the figures again! they look like total retards :D :bash:

Face painting, like many aspects of this hobby, is a lifetime journey. Practice, practice, practice. Some of the best figure painters in the world work on faces weekly, just to keep their skills honed. I have a few articles in the library that might help. Let me know if you'd like a copy. Nice work on the grenadiers.
