Here is my entry for the HOH Canadian Group Build: MiniArt's 1:35 Valentine Mk.VI Canadian Built Early Prod.

First stages are to build the lower hull which includes driver controls


Lower hull and suspension assembled

The Valentine was one of many tanks sent to Russia under Lend-Lease. Shermans, Churchills, and Matildas were also sent.

Tonight's progress.

The next stage is the assembly of the wheels and fitting them to the suspension units:-


Care is needed to keep the wheels aligned. There's enough slack in the suspension units to allow them to go out of alignment, as you can see in this pic:-


Next is the assembly of the tracks. Here I've started on one side. Due to the small size of the links, short lengths of 10 were assembled then joined together once dry. Here the lower run is slipped under the wheels to check the fit:-


The sprocket and idler curves are added, bits of wooden peg were used to support the track:-


The upper track run is added and the one track is complete:-

Nice subject. Never built a Miniart model. What have been the biggest challenges of the kit so far?

It's my first MiniArt kit - and I've been impressed by the quality. It's early days yet of course, the fit of the parts on the lower hull was good. As mentioned the wheel alignment was a small issue - mainly because of play in the suspension components - but this is probably a trade off from allowing for some articulation in the parts.
