Global Scale Modeller

Howdy folks,

as I'm a little bit irritated by fact I can't properly prime any model... I need something to relax from planes... and ... well I don't know how relaxing braille scale can be, but I have a nice twin pack form S-Model on my shelf. So I decided why not to jump into SiG and make some tiny models to join their bigger brother I already made earlier this year...
So my entry looks like this:





I hope this will be as quick as it looks like, so I can even think about some small diorama for them..

NAAAH. cellphone was an addon to tweezers
(btw if u see promotion with Samsung Galaxy Trend ... avoid this phone by all costs!!! It simply works like if u ran Windows 7 on old Pentium D - it freezes for 1-2 minutes when you navigate with google maps and attempt to ... turn it can't handle turns

but ... the phone, sorry for that - I did put it only to show the date or time... but it didn't go well... did it ?

My first two tanks in braille scale come along nicely. Those S-Models, although simplified in meaning of number of parts, are really good models for beginners to 1/72 armor building.

Decent level of details, nice molds, so elements fit great – I almost didn’t need to sand anything. Just tracks required some attention in the visible parts as there was some trace of molds joints visible.

So in general it was pleasant and quick build. If painting goes also that smoothly…  I will probably consider building some more braille scale tanks J

(BTW – those tanks are so tiny!! I didn’t realize how small they are in comparison to some planes or Mi-4 helicopter I have in 1/72 scale on shelf!! ).

thanks for support.

yeah, this company seems to be quite new and so far I saw only few kits they released... but all of them look great. I have already bought the Pz.Kpfw III (DAK) also great detail.
For me this is a perfect training kit set I as I said - 2 kits come cheap with good detail... what you want more ?

So far it looks really good. I have already primed and coated them with German Grey from Vallejo. Now they rest in peac... pieces as they're not glued yet

I'll keep you posted.

In meantime I have managed to paint all tanks with details and also drybrush them... So more or less actors are ready to join the scene.
I don't know if I did the drybrushing right, although I like the effect it seems to be slightly too strong.
However I'm still planning to put some light filters on tankgs to slightly tone down the effects...

Nice progress Radek !
I really like this 3 tiny babys and you did an excellent paintjob on them sir. Particularly the highlighting (drybrushing) on the edges looks great. Very well done mate !
Beyond that I would imagine that your planned concept for the dio sounds like a darned good idea in my opinion. Cos of the small scale it's possible to illustrate the strategy of the polish TKS's in battle with the german Panzer II.

Great work man, the drybrushing really looks great, highlights all the details even at this scale. Great work on the tools as well, your wood painting is superb!

The Christmas & New Years Eve period was very dissapointing to me, because instead of making any models and progress I had to stay in bed struck by tonsillitis ... It still holds me at bay today and I won't go to any party... therefore I had plenty of time today to finish panzers and diorama...

But first ... I was unpleasantly suprised by fact that decals for my panzers were gone and my frame for diorama as well... dammit... last day of the year, of the sig, I'm sick and shops are already closed (or full of late customers)...
Fortunately... I found some German white crosses in box with Pz.Kpfw Ia ... The numbers were incorrect so my panzers have none.
I also found another, slightly smaller frame and started working with it.

First shaped basic terrain:



Then primed it with Vallejo Black:



After it dried I used this bunch of colours to paint the surface (pigments were used later):





That took me a while to correct all these cracks on the surface, but after a while I used variety of static grass or sponge based "leaves" to simulate grassy terrain and two bushes.
The basis for bushes I made from steel wool, some finely minced cork and ... marjoram. I just simply cut some part of hte steel wool, shaped basic bush and then used wood glue with water to attach cork and marjoram. Later primed it black and afterwards painted with various green and yellow/buff like colours... As this gave too large effect for braille scale I used the Woodland's Scenics sponge based leaves to cover the structure.

Stone and dust were made from aquarium small gravel and some "minced" plaster waste.

So it turned out like this:




After that I used some previously mentioned pigments on both - tanks and the base and the whole dio was finished... (sorry Polish TKS still needs the regular barrel, but I couldnt get it fixed right).. Still Pz.Kpfw II are the main actors here
