AIRFIX (old tool) 1/72 BAC Lightning F3

Post by RobertA »

It will be built straight out the box! Bought it cheap at a modelling show and wanted to build it before the new tool is released, just for a bit of fun!

There's no detail in the cockpit, so you can use the space for a nice big weight, to prevent it sitting on its tail! Some filler was needed, but not near enough as much as I expected. :)

Thank you Gentlemen all!!

Here's some further building progress on the Lightning.. All pictures taken prior to any touch ups, so what you see isn't neccesarily what you will get with the finished model.. ;)

The canopy is not very good, but will suffice for this project.. the kit in itself does not warrant any special after market treatment, especially not now there's a new tool on the go! The money is best saved for the new kit, me thinks..
