Fit issue nightmare

Just started the filling process on the hull. Not pretty, Mr. Surfacer will be a must.

Sorry for the long interval between posts on this build. This has been a real dog to get to look half as good as I want. So after a load of filling and sanding, and more sanding and a little addition of a few bits and fiddly parts we are at the paint stage for the interior. If that is what you would call this none detailed hulk.

I primed the interior in AK Interactive gray primer, then added a coat of Vallejo Ger. Red Brown. Used hairspray and then top coated with white. I used thin coats to allow it to show through some and then chipped using a water color scrubbing paint brush. (These are awesome and cheap)

Still need to do a wash on the interior to darken it up some and weather it more. I then moved on to the upper hull and built the huge main gun. It was a real pain to fit and install. Most of it is not glued. It is held in by two little pivot locks that clamp together and are glued, but they flex every time you position the gun. So I wont be moving it much once I get it in the position I want it in.

I have also installed the tracks and have given them the coat of rust and will move nest is the steel wash and dry brushing. I still have a lot of detailing to do in the rear of the tank, the exhaust needs a lot more weathering and the details on the back need to be defined and painted. Will do a lot of that after I top coat it. Have not installed any of the tools that go on the back or the hull yet.

THe four mortars are assembled and primed. These were a real mess. They consist of 4 pieces and all had huge fit issues. I think I used a 1/2 tube of squadron green on these and Mister Surfacer 1000 to get them smooth and looking good.

But all in all it is coming along nicely. I do have one question for anyone who can help. I hear a lot of talk about after market parts and have no idea of where to go and look for them. My local hobby shop only has a few and they cost a boat load. Can any one provide some good links to some possible locations. Thanks

The white is still very bright in the pics are you going to darken it down?
