Agree, checked out some kits last week but the models I saw had poor mouldings, raised panel lines etc so nothing grabbed me except a hasquawa stuka 1/32 at £29, cheaper than some on eBay, bought masks and PE so looking forward to that one

I got a few kits during the sale at my local modelzone. Got some nice Academy kits half price! However I think this sale might be a wolf in sheeps clothing. I went in the other day after the sale had ended, and the model kit section had been reduced by more than half! They used to have loads of options but now it's just stacks of airfix or revell. The rest of the shop is die cast and rc helicopters! I wouldn't mind but they're called MODELzone! My local Hobbycraft seem to be doing the same thing, and these are the only shops I can find in Hull that sell models.

Phew!! Rant over, sorry!!

I've been in the Trafford centre store today, 30% off everything, good bargains but
Very sad to see it go!

Be careful, the Modelzone administrators have been sneaky and increased everything to the full RRP before applying the discounts. Some of the kits that are now apparently discounted are actually more expensive than they were a month ago. Check the price of any kit you are interested in against what you will be paying elsewhere at normal prices before buying as it may not be such a great deal as it seems in MZ. A lot of the stores are still only 20% off kits and 50% off paints, glues, tools etc ...

Paints and tools are a good bargain at MZ at the moment ... not so sure about kits. I have raided my MZ twice for paints, tape and glue but there have been no kits at a particularly good price even with the discount.
