Well let`s start a new build !!

Oh... the Jaguar 1! I've built this kit myself a while ago and therefore I'm very interested in your new project. Do you plan on doing it in NATO camo scheme or in the older NATO olive?
What do you think about the included rubber tracks?
Will follow your progress with interest...

Oh the camo no doubt about that !!
And the tracks....... Well I don't have the money now to buy aftermarket so they will have to do and i have the KanonenJagdpanzer also and they don't look to bad on that

i got this far last night already but due to a case of "What The ..... is it that late already " i didnt post them then

Now this Sebastian.... I want to see!!!!
Will buy some popcorn and settle down for the duration!!!

P.S.: Please excuse me mate but don't forget to add on the reflectors (cat's eyes) on both rear fenders (there are two holes in the fenderes where you have to glue them on). Both reflectors are very very tiny and easily overlooked for that reason !

No worries mate... I'll never unterstand why they don't have included them in the fenders molded body !

Well the Primer is on








The Colours for the Camo are sorted :


the Paint for the tracks is also found:


and the camo chosen :


and , yeah i just couldnt wait, the first of the 3 colours is applied:





now this will get to dry until tommorow the i`ll start masking the parts that i want to stay bwon of with Humbrol maskol
i hope to get a nice hard egdr camo line that way .
after appliyng the Maskol i will let it dry for 10 to 15 minutes and then spray the Green over it then letting that dry of 1 or 2 hours a new masking round with the maskol and then the next morning the final coat of black.

First part of the masking is done now to wait 20 minutes until NATO-green goes over it

I was planning on using the same method to camo the Leo 2A6.. I decided to use white tack because the birdcage armour would make it hard to remove the mask agent. Too cramped.
I'm interested to see how this turns out Sebastian.

Nah using the Maskol looks like a good way to do it. I have some Vallejo Liquid mask, but it doesn't seem to work so well over bigger areas, or maybe it does. I will have to try it! I have a PzH2000 to paint in NATO camo sometime this year.

It`s my first time using Maskol too so it`s a bit nerving and i hope it wont rib all the paint of when i`m done

Would love to see that camo. I spay camo schemes free handed, but would like to give your method a try!
I see you use wire for antennas now. I know you find it difficult to make them out of styrene.
If you like I can make a little video of how to make styrene ones?

very nice work Schoof , been playing catch up on this great build, was always a little hesitant to try 1/35 revell armor models from what I've heard of them, but you done a very good job on this mate well done

yeah it was all you need to do it pick it up a bit with so tweesers up pull it of and 95% will come of in 1 go
It will get a bit fiddly around the tools but that`s to be aspected

afterwards i went over it with a stiff brush to beush of the piant chips left behind

all in all the total clean up of the Maskol took maybe an hour

Decal ' s and Detailpaint are done !

Is the "Leitkreuz" hand-painted or did you apply the included decal streaks on it?

Hand Painted I thought it would be easier.
The 4 Decalsi would need to place are so smal I was Strait afraid to ruin them

That's a hell of a lot of decals for an AFV! Wow!
That looks soo cool Sebastian! If you have any decal solution you should put a tiny bit on a few of those decals, it looks like some are silvering on you a bit. I doubt that it's your fault, most likely it's the decals.
Looks like you have a nice smooth surface. Just a touch of solution and maybe a gentle roll of a cotton bud to push the edges down.

I did use micro sol and set..... maybe it looked that way because they where stil wet ....

Ps. What does silvering mean ???

Oh..that around the rocket tube is ONE single decal....... not a nice surprise

Oh ... I had the same problem with the decals ... especially on the missile (despite using Micro sol and Micro set)! Applying the decal on the missile was a pain in the ass and I failed to do it free of air bubbles !

I answered Sebastian in a PM that he sent me, but I'll copy the answer here so that some of the other fellas can read it.

"Silvering is when the clear parts of a decal turn that foggy greyish colour. It's caused buy the decal not fully sticking to the surface that it is sitting on.
That can happen when the decal is really thick or the sheet that it is printed on isn't very good, or the surface that the decal is sitting on is not smooth.
I think that your decals were either a bit thick, or they were just a bit blah.
It's nothing that you would have done. The surface that you prepared is as smooth as can be.
With decals you shouldn't be able to see the film that it's printed on after it has been applied.
To hide the film, we use decal solution, microsol, Walter solvaset, etc, to soften the decal so it snugs down tight to the surface, and all the bubbles are pushed out from underneath. After the decals have dried (5 hours) you can seal them with a couple thin coats of what ever clear coat you use."

For that big decal on the missile tube, I would have cut that one into smaller pieces. I don't think that I would have tried to use a decal with that much clear film without trimming it all off or cutting the individual decals out. I would worry about too much silvering.

I already thought that the problem with the bubbles underneath the dacal has a relation to its size cos I applied the decal on the missile tube in one single piece, too . And this has been a mistake. As you said ... I should have cut it into smaller scraps, too ... that's for sure !

I for one salute you on your perseverance and determination with this hobby.
I think even though some decal work has failed slightly, the build and camo work make this piece shine mate.

Looks like the second coat of clear did the Decals some good
