Hi guys really really need some paint code help

Post by Wayne »

As it says at the top I really need some paint code help. I got a new kit from Santa but I need the paint codes.

The paints I need are
TS-15 / TS-26 / X-1 / X-4 / X-5 / X-7 / X-8 / X-10 / X-11 / X-12 / X-18 / XF-1 / XF-2 / XF-8 / XF-15 / XF-16 / XF-52 / XF-64

I need them converted to Vallejo model colour please. I have tried all the conversion charts on here and other sites but they might as well be in Japanese as for the love of trying I can't work any of them out.

Thanks Wayne.

Have you tried http://www.paint4models.com/paintchart/ ... 00101d.htm# ?

I have a lot of luck with this site, which I found here on ISM. If you choose Vallejo and Tamiya and sort by Tamiya, you can find most of what you need. You can also search on the paint code or name.

I couldn't find the TS listings, but here is what I could find. You may want to double check these as I am getting sleepy. :ooops:

Also, you will see there is more than one match for some, so you may have to do some more research. Other conversion charts/sites may give slightly different matches.

I hope this helps.

Tamiya ---------- Vallejo Model Color
X1 - Black ---------- 861 - Glossy Black
X4 - Blue ---------- 930 - Dark Blue
X5 - Green --------- 823 - Luftwaffe Camo. Green
X7 - Fire Red ------- 957 - Flat Red or 908 - Carmine Red
X8 - Lemon --------- 953 - Flat Yello
X10 - Gun Metal ---- 863 - Gun Metal Grey
X11 - Chrome Silver -- 997 - Silver
X12 - Gold Leaf ------ 878 - Old Gold or 996 - Gold
X18 - Semi Gloss Black - 861 - Glossy Black or 855 - Black Glaze
XF1 - Black ---------- 950 - Black
XF2 - White ---------- 951 - White
XF8 - Blue ---------- 965 - Prussian Blue
XF15 - Flesh ---------- 917 - Beige or 927 -Dark Flesh
XF16 - Aluminium ------ 993 - White Grey
XF52 - Earth --------- 874 - US Tan Earth, a couple of other matches as well.
XF64 - Red Brown ----- 984 - Flat Brown

Nice one Orbyn - Beat me to it :th:

Wayne - The TS codes are just codes for Tamiya's spray cans - Just look what the colours are on the Tamiya paint charts we have on ISM and then just convert to VMC :D
Where does all the bloody time go.....?

Unfortunately my site only converts to Humbrol so you'd have to go Tamiya - Humbrol then Humbrol - Vallejo which I know is a pain. Sooner or later I'm going to have to get someone to make a database style matching program if I want to get ahead of the competition.

No worries, glad I could help out. And thanks for the kudos from everyone. It is nice to be able to contribute to the forum after learning so much from everyone here, and being inspired by all of the great work I see.
