AIRFIX 1/72 A-4B SKYHAWK

Have started the Skyhawk I drew in my clubs 'Secret Santa' in December... it has to be finished in time for the next clubmeeting, i.e the 20th of January! Should hopefully not be a problem.

The ejection seat looks very accurate to me, may just need to add a couple of little things, unless I stick the pilot in place, in which case no other modifications are needed, really..

Have added some scratch detailing, such as the ejection handle et.c, made from stretched sprue and / or plastic card:

Thank you both!! I used Xtracrylics 'Panzer Grau' and 'RLM 02 Grau', and a couple of different shades of green (can't recall the names) plus 'Chaos Black' and also a yellow shade from Citadel / Games Workshop. I don't often use acrylic paints but sometimes they're better than enamels for certain things..

Further progress.. As you can see, the landing gear has been added and I painted it white underneath (no picture of that). Tried to add a wash but it did not turn out 100% the way I wanted it, and the paint came off in one area, due to me rubbing too hard!..

My own fault, nobody elses!

Still, it is a learning curve and luckily it is underneath so it won't really show! It looks 'dirty' and that is what I wanted to achieve, so I'm happy.. And next time I'll know to add the wash to a 'gloss' surface..

Nice progress on the Skyhawk. The panel lines will surely look amazing when you wipe off the darkwash.

Thank you! I have wiped off the dark wash.. I just didn't do it on a gloss paint, as I should have done.. My own fault!

Will post some more photos in the 'Completed Models' section.. Quite pleased with it, even if it turned out a little bit dirtier than I intended.. it is all a learning curve!

Building for fun, should be a motto or a tattoo somewhere , great work on the skyhawk, im not much of a plane builder but i do enjoy looking at great builds, and i have enjoyed seeing this one and i really like the attention to detail.

Thank you Tom! Some models more than others asks for a bit of added detailing, if only something basic like an ejectorseat handle.. I let the model decide when I start the build, it will let me know if it wants added details or not.. this one did!!
