Need help with Dragon headphones

Could anybody help me with this figure set from Dragon (6214)?

It's got photo-etched and plastic parts for the headphones and I can't figure out how to put them together. The earpieces don't seem to fit in the PE parts. Does anybody have have experience with this kit and help me out? Thanks in advance!

Uhm, sure. This is what it looks like:

I assume the pins on the earpieces need to go through the little loops in the PE part, but they don't fit. The pins are too big. Or am I getting something wrong?

I think that is the idea:



You could try annealing (heating) the photo etch to soften it so it can be bent through, recovering the shape of the buckle when it is attached

So this is my solution. I cut off a slice from the back of the earpieces with a hobby knife.

Then I glued the headband (or whatever that part of a headphone is called) to the earpieces with super-glue. After that I cut a small strip of PE to cover up the part where the headband and earpiece are joined. And that was basically it.

Since this was my very first time using PE parts, I'm ok with the result. However, I think it looks a bit "plumpy" and there have got to be more elegant and realistic ways to represent a tank crew headphone. If any of you has any advice on that for me, hit me with it!

If you want to make your own just grab some putty aka green stuff and sculpt away - that way you could get a thinner earpiece which is what looks clunky. What you have done looks good though, nice figure
