Hello,

I have recently started a build for Jake Cutter's Carrier Aircraft group build hosted on YouTube by Jake Cutter

So far managed to put cockpit together, close hull and attach some wings to it

The git is great so far and although I had some problem with PE parts... but it ended up good and now it's ready to be primed.

So here's the exteremely loong booring 1 video build log ... 45 minutes guys... and can't promise you return sane

Great to see the progress... But those pesky little metal thingys can make anyone PE'ed off..

I still don't know why I dealt with them ... They made me furious at some point... and I lost few gauges, so the cockpit is not 100% accurrate... but hell I'm not the rivet counter

Now it lies and rests after being primed. Tomorrow big day... preshading and painting... It'll be fun

Hullo there

I've been working hard on Hellcat. There was an issue with paints. Reference Mr Hobby paints H56 & H54 by no means looked like the original ones, so had to make lots of experiments with vallejo blue shades, whites, blacks and greys ... That's how the Hellcat looks after those experiments




Paint scheme painted freehand with airbrush. I made some postshading - lightened few panels to break monotony on wings and main body.
Please let me know what you think ...

I'd say that looks just about right... And I really like the way the panel lines are showing through on the lighter blue, it looks very good so far!!

BTW - I've bought my first Jug yesterday from Tamiya...

Nice one.. Have never built a Tamiya P-47 of any version, but one day I will, I have only heard good stuff about them and if they are anywhere near as good as the Tamiya Mustang I did a couple of years back, the kit should be brilliant!

Did you get a Bubbletop or a Razorback??

I bought (link)P-47D Bubbletop.
And already ordered some masks, interior set from Eduard + decals from Techmod to recreate Capt. Boleslaw Gladych aircraft.

The kit is brilliant at first look. Beautifully and subtly detailed. I hope it will build like a charm

Excellent!! I spent 2 hours walking around the airfield a few years ago, while it still had some of the buildings left.. The new owner of the land had most of them knocked down and some of the remaining taxiways ploughed up, which was quite sad, in my opinion..
