Welcome ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls...
Continuing with a my recent Fleet Air Arm thing, I'm going to have a go at this....

Image

The usual spure shots....

Image

Quite nice detail here, but the plastic is, what I would call, a bit rough. I don't think you can see it in my pics, it's certainly not like Tamiya or even Airfix grade...

Image

Image

Oo a little bit of resin, not a clue whether it any good or not as never done it before....

Image

How about the clear stuff, it's ok probably gonna need a sheep dip of Future tho..

Image

Decals next, not great if I'm honest lads, really shiny and a bit thick...we'll have to see

Image

Lets do a bit of building shall we?
The sprues aren't numbered so you have to keep referring back to the instructions...a bit annoying. I don't think there's going to be much in the way of fit issues tho..

Image

Oh dear.....

Image

A bit better...

Image

As I said, decent detail...

Image

Image

That's it for a bit, can't to start painting to be honest. I've tried a bit of scratching in the pit so we'll see how that turns out. Anyway thanks for looking, if you want to comment please do so....

:cheers2:

Tim

Don't give up

This is stunning aircraft. I have one of these in my stash, so I will be watching this build very closely. Keep up good work.
This kit is more hard to work compare to Tamiya or even Airfix but with pation and look on the details it should end up with very stunning model :th:

Update time... Cockpit side walls painted...

Pilots seat and panel...

Image

Observers 'pit...

Image

I've used Humbrol 78 for the colour and Vallejo Model Colour to pick out...er... the colours.
In fairness with Ultimate thinner the Humbrol went pretty well, I know some dont like them but there you go. Lets try a bit of weathering...

Side walls..

Pit

Too much??? Thinned down Lifecolor black with a bit of Citidel Sepia (don't think you can tell).
Anyways that'll do for now, thanks for looking shout me if you like.

Special Hobby... ah Special Hobby. Their kits require some extra attention, but it looks like you've got this one under your belt.

Going a bit slow this one... Ready for a bit of a prime I reckon

Image

A bit of a strange kit this, no location points, a funny photocopied instruction booklet...
Hopefully I'll be chucking some paint on her at the weekend.
Thanx for looking (a bit boring i know).

It's prime time.. :)

Modelling is NEVER boring, rest assured.. and as far as I'm concerned, I rather follow a long build thread with some reasonably detailed pictures to watch and learn from, than a 'wham, bang, thank you ma'am' build.. :) So take your time..

I always maintain that it's no bad thing that a kit give you a run for the money and it looks like this one is doing just that. But at the end of the build you will be a stronger, better skilled modeller as a result. Then get as nice Tamiya kit for a stress-free build! ;)

Here we go, it's prime time (cheers Rob)....
I still a novice at pre-shading

Image

This is ok I guess...

Image

This not so...

Image

Now, lets have ago at some camo work.. Lifecolor UA 227 Slate Grey

Image

Image

Next colour.... Lifecolor UA 516 Dark Sea Grey

Image

Image

I used "white tac" for the camouflage design and its trickier than you think. What other techniques are there other than freehand?
I'll have a go at the underside tomorrow all being well.
Thanx for looking guys, feedback welcome....

Ps hope your right Gary...

Great work dude.

What way where you using the White Tack?

The best way I found was to use it in thin "Worms" on the edges filled in with masking tape.

Ah...that's better all properly dressed

Next comes the fun part, a bit of weathering. I might try a bit of streaking, after a Ultimate wash of course.
Did I mention I don't like decalling?

Thanx for looking... :thumb1:
