Hey everyone.

Pretty keen to get stuck into this on the weekend, it's going to be raining and.... hot. usually those two things are mutually exclusive and it sounds confusing and terrible to me so I elect to stay inside and work on this.

The funny thing is I went in to my local store today to get the paint for this. Walked out with a 1:35 Dragon Panther D with Zimmerit and a 1:35 Italeri Tiger I that were on special for a ridiculous price, couldn't pass them up and with paint for a king tiger in my stash and completely forgot about the paint for this. I'm starting to wonder about myself. Especially with me thinking about going and buying ALL of those Italeri Tigers. That's how cheap they were. They had about ten of them.

Surprisingly There's not much flash. In fact... none. All very clean apart from some weird residue on some of the larger pieces. No idea what that is. The last Revell kit I had I spent more time paring all the burrs and flash off than building it and putting it together. The wings are especially crisp. Very pleasantly surprised.

Cant say really why, but the Lanc is my favourite 4 eng WWII bomber, just love it!
The Tamiya 1/48 Avro Lancaster B Mk.I/III is on my shopping list...

A really good opportunity to see how our 2 kits compare, I'm sure each kit has it's strengths and weaknesses. I know the Revell kit is a little easier on the wallet for starters.

Ahh -- Could this be the infamous Airfix goat fat mould release agent A good wash in soapy water may be in order.

Do they really use that for a release agent? bahaha.

Well, the kit doesn't look like the Airfix one that ModelingMatt has. Could they be different and from the same company? Anyways I will do just that, give them a soak tonight ready for tomorrow. Thanks

Here's what little I have done. Haven't had the most amount of time today I was hoping for.

Notice the skillful capture of cat hair on imagine 1. When I said the other night there was no flash, what I really meant was there was no flash after I removed it all. Took a fair while just on these small pieces. Remind me next time to have my glasses on before I go near things like this and make comments hehe.

Great start dude.

There's going to be a little bit of sanding and filling but not a lot methinks. Everything seems to be coming together quite nicely. I had some fit issues with the fuselage, but after I sorted that out it was fine

Sorry for the lack of updates here everyone.

I'll admit I am having an absolute horror of a time with this kit. It was about right after I fitted the fuselage that I realised that one side was larger that the other. And there are various other massive fit issues and warping I didn't notice initially on top of that. It all looked so nice to begin with too.

I briefly considered packing it in, but I am nothing if not tenacious so I think I'll give it a red hot go this weekend and see what happens. Was hoping to be well on the way to painting stage by now but this kit took the wind out of my sails.

Keep at it dude.

I'm sure you can over come the issues.

Nothing worse than a bad kit.

Its strange that you had so much fit problems with this kit, I did one last year and it was fine except for the replacement part for the bomb bay which had a masive step in it, here is a picture of it


After a lot of sanding it turned out good, the only other problem I had was with the paint I used. The kit was fantasic, Maybe u got one from a dodgy batch, I hope u stuck with it

Sorry I haven't been on for so long, I have been ridiculously busy. I am going out have to pull out of this one as I just don't have the time right now unfortunately.
