As part of things I do, I help out with teenagers, they have a go of model making then low an behold, you then get about 15-20 brushes with dried up paint (as they have not really listened to you when you said to wash them as you go along)...
Hmmm, seems a waste to just throw them out as some of them are half decent brushes...
What I have ended up doing (and it worked a treat) is using Ultimate Airbrush Cleaner and some "The Masters Brush Cleaner and Preserver"...
Just took it slow and steady and soaked the brush in ultimate to start with, then agitated it a bit, I was shocked at how well the paint was coming off the brush with the Ultimate...
After a few goes of agitating, removing and wiping with some kitchen towel, I then used the brush cleaner and preserver, which also worked alright and seems to be able to get the shape of the brush back alright... Anyhow, here's some pics of beginning, middle and end for one of the brushes I had (and one of the worst ones to be fair)...

Yeah i do the same to clean my brushes and it works a treat, really need to get some of that brush cleaner myself

Just to see what would happen, I put "clean" brushes in the ultra-sonic cleaner. It lifted some crap I didn't know was there. I'm going to have to get some of that Master's cleaner.

In fairness, it was the Ultimate that did 90% of the job, the Masters is good stuff to finish off with though (imo)..
