I have Model Master Liquid Cement, Tamaya Cement and Tamaya Extra Thin Cement. I always seem to end up going back to the Tamaya Extra Thin.

What's your cement of choice and why? Would be interested to see if there is any cements out there that are used that are not main stream but serve a purpose.

Tamiya extra thin for me although I do have a bottle of mr hobby to try out at some point

Tamiya Extra Thin for me as well. I have a drawer full of others but the Tamiya is my go to.
I've got some Gorilla Glue that I just bought and was planning on playing with... but I'm still a Tamiya man.

The ONLY three adhesives I use are Tamiya Extra Thin, Mr Hobby CementS (for when if I run out of TET) and medium CA + kicker.

Can't use poly cement - Yuch....

C.A. Thin and Medium for Photo Etch and the odd... plastic parts..
The rest is all Tamiya Thin Cement and Testor thin cement which I pour into my Tamiya Bottle if I run out of Tamiya Thin Cement.... LOL
cuz I prefer the shape and its less prone to flip over than the Testor Round bottle...

The little tubes of Humbrol poly cement because I'm unemployed and poor! I can't remember how it all came about now but I was sent 'care packages' from several members of the ATF that included pots of Humbrol paint and glues that you get with the starter sets that a lot of modellers don't like or use - they had no use for them so they sent them to me and I'm still working my way through them! More recently I was sent a bottle of Revell Contacta Professional Mini by the Telegraphist (my modelling guardian angel) which has the long metal needle to make it easier to get the glue only where I want it.
Oh! I just remembered! I have a little bottle of Italeri liquid glue with the brush that is quite nice to use. I'd forgotten about that!

Depending in circumstances either
Revell Contacta
Plastic weld
Loctite Superglue (and occasionally the gel type)

I use a mix between Albion alloys touch an flow system liquid weld and also the humbrol stuff with the long metal nose. Only got the touch and flow lately, at Milton Keynes model show but I have to say I'm very impressed.

I used to use that Albion glue, it's great stuff but so easy to knock that bottle over

Yes it gives great results but im terrified that im going snap the glass rod or bend the needle!

Do you use it with a brush too?

You all need to try tamiya extra thin, it really is superb, it's not that much dearer than other glues and the bottle lasts for ages.

I've not tried it with a brush yet. That might help with the paranoia! Lol

Yeah try it with a thin brush, just touch were you want the glue and let capillary action do the work.

I use Revell contacta professional because its available everywhere nearby and it is also a very good glue in my opinion. Not to thin so it dries not that fast and gives you the chance to position the parts correctly.

I'm using also Revell Contacta in tube , Humbrol Liquid Poly that sucks and Humbrol Clearfix for clear parts. Liquid Poly is little bit too thin compare to Revell but it smells better. Revell is very popular so I can buy it everywhere and basicly it's reliable cement for me.

Tamiya Extra Thin and Testor's Thin cement. I also use medium CA and kicker as well as white glue for PE and clear parts! Why? cuz everyone seems to like them, so why not? lol.

I'm going to have to try TET now.

I use tamiya extra thin cement and humbrol precision poly just because thats easier to find
The only problem is when you knock it on the floor...

mr hobby never got round to getting tam extra thin never in stock at the shops i use

I use Mr Cement S, love to stuff drys nice and quick and sometimes I use the revell bottles with the needles

Usually use the Revell Contacta with the needle, although my lot has just run out so have moved onto some Humbrol Liquid Poly I bought as a back up ages ago, but again its the precision one with the needle.

I have just bought some Mr Hobby Thin Cement to try as I have heard its just as good as the Tamiya Extra Thin, but seems more readily available in the UK, can't find the Tamiya stuff anywhere, and frankly I am not ordering from the Far East just for glue!

I generally use Tamiya extra thin cement or in some cases Revell's contacta. For photoetched parts I use variety of glues - still it's very challenging to me to put the part in right place before it dries. I am also experimenting with something that's called ' liquid nail'. It's sort of very dense slow drying CA like glue. Drying time is jp to 10 mins depending on layer thickness. It proved to be very good for me in case of very small parts. Only drawback is that it's not transparent, but leaves whiteish traces. But with enough carefulness it gives me the chance of not screwing these tiny photoetched constructs

Got to admit I'm still struggling with Humbrol stuff, and like some of the other lads don't fancy ordering glue from half way round the world, so what's the best readily (UK sellers) available glue on the market?
That'll get you thinking....

Revell Contacta Professional because you can get this type of cement everywhere.
Pattex 100%. Cheap...

Mr hobby, why? Cant get tamiya extra thin, thats why.

Still have great affection for my liquid poly though.

Enamel thinners.... I'm gonna faze out me old Humbrol enamels but I need a thinner till I have,
do I stick with Humbrol (seems a bit dear to me) or get an alternative....? Use to use white spirit (too harsh?)

I use Squadron "green" putty !
Fast drying and easy to sand !



If i need a more diluted putty I use vallejo thinned with tap water !!

I use Tamiya extra thin and Methyl Ethyl Keytone M.E.K. It's cheaper then Ambroid Pro Weld and is the same thing basically.

I've used Revells glue. The one that comes in a plastic bottle with needle. But after a while the glue dried inside the needle or something. So I started to use Tamiyas Extra Thin cement instead, and I love it so far.

Which video have you reviewed the tamiya extra thin in. I can't find it

Easy solution. ..... Just hold a lighter 2 sec. Under the needle tip and it's open again. ..... Yes I mean the flame

I use the Revell Contacta mostly, plus Plast-I-Weld and Mr CementS, very happy with all these. The rare times I use Ca, I have vitalbond medium. Gator glue for canopies and light gluing for later removal.

Humbrol poly cement were I want hold right away or higher load joints (arms on figures for example) and I don't want to watch the arm slide down or hold it for 60 seconds.

Tamiya extra thin for everything else.

Just kidding, I gave up on that stuff after my first experience with it. Cant believe they still sell the stuff.
I primarily use Tamiya Extra Thin, Model Master liquid cement, Ambroid ProWeld or CA glue in various thicknesses.

Mr Cement, Revell and rocket in its many shapes and forms.

Revell Contacta Profesional and Tamiya extra thin. Tamiya extra thin is only good when you're gluing precision molded parts and it dries fast. I have half of a bottle left and I think more of it evaporated than I used on gluing. For stronger bonds(hulls, fuselage halves...) I use Revell.

Gorilla Glue..great stuff

i use several glues this depends on what i'm glueing ofcourse
tamiya extra thin - small parts
faller super expert - larger pieces and things that need a better bonding
pattex ca glue gel - photo etch
bison ca glue industrial - when there are delicate parts i already snapped off or when i run out of the gel glue
and that is all i use
the faller glue is from a company that makes buildinhs for railroad models , should you want to give it a try it dries fast and doesn't attack the styrene to much

I use Revell contacta and Tamiya Extra thin. I also have a bottle of UHU plastic glue, seems to have similar properties as Revell, the bottle have a needle and all, just smells a bit different...

I use humbrol liquid poly. Got the one with the needle applicator a couple of weeks ago and when I went to try it for the first time today I found the needle was blocked! Frustrating! How do you unblock?

a thin piece of brass or copper wire might do the trick
but that happens most of the times with a new needle bottle

Think I'll stick to liquid poly for now!

When the glue dries in the needle of my revell glue I just heat it with a lighter and give it a squeeze.

90% of the time I use tamiya extra thin 10% I use revell. I was using humbrol liquid poly but like most of humbrols products it's bloody rubbish, last time I used it was on my JU290 and parts kept popping off and seams on the fuselage kept opening so I changed to tamiya
For clear parts Iv stared to use the revell stuff, it looks like watered down PVA but it dries quick and has great hold
