First a few pics of me helping him put the decals on

The finished model

I help him put it all together then he painted how he wanted and he help me put the decals on.
My son with the finished model.
The model was a PM model really cheap £2 I think and really simple but just right for him and we both enjoyed doing it.

Great work, that lad! Like the tobacco manufacturers say: hook 'em while they're young!

Save it for a Power Point presentation to accompany your speech at his wedding when it's too late for the young lass to run away!

I saw it first back when I owned a pub and I used to do outside bars for special events - did one in a marquee in this guy's HUGE garden and he (father of the groom) and the father of the bride covered two huge pin boards in the entrance with A4 sized embarrassing pics of the happy couple when they were kids!

Proud face!
When I built my first kit I did it on my own at my parents kitchen table. I think that I was about 10 or 12 at the time. I looked something like your boy's and I believe that I was just as proud of it.
When my oldest boy was 14 we built a Dragon King Tiger together while watching old Star Trek movies. I didn't look much different, but he looked just as pleased.
Even if they don't stick with it right away, 10 or 15 years from now chances are that they'll come back to it.
A lot of us did.
It gets in your skin.

"'Tis early practice only makes the Master"!
It's really nice to see such a young person start building scale models - and he did his first one very well. The camo is absolutely nice colored

!
Please tell your son that he did a great job on it

.
With best regards ...
Markus

Only just caught this thread and I'm glad I did - what a brilliant picture!
I know there's been a few discussions recently about why do we model - Nige, the look on your son's face says it all.
