And for me, the results were a quantum leap beyond anything I'd managed to do before By the end I even had confidence to have a go at mottling



Even used some washes


Kinda learned a few key lessons from this
1. Don't be afraid of the plastic. It's not going to melt, warp or dissolve into a gloop. It's a construction material, just like wood or steel.
2. Acrylics are your friend. I had always used enamel paints, thought they were on a par with acrylic in terms of ease of use and results etc but to it seems to me you have so many more choices for weathering, finishing, mixing etc etc than with enamels.
3. It also gave me confidence to fill and sand. Previously my efforts has resulted in huge unsightly scars along the seams but using the tools in the video(sanding sticks, flexi-files and perfect putty) really made the difference.
4, Canopy masking. First time I've done it, while it's not perfect at least now I know what to do and the confidence to keep at it.
5. Buy proper PVA/Canopy glue. I used superglue for the canopy and it fogged a little :/

Im filming the next part today which was covering decaling, i managed to spill ab cleaner on the wing so spent the last hour repairing that

It was watching these vids that has really made me want to get back into the hobby again, plus having a grandson who is starting out is a good reason as well. The vids are great for the ordinary modeller, not too technical, and explained in layman's terms, so thanks.
