1/48 Acdemy F4U-1b OOB

Post by Northboy321 »

Here's a quick build I have knocked together for a colleague at work who has an interest in WW2 aircraft. The kit is a update of the old Academy F4U-1D and to be honest its not as good as the Tamiya but still has a decent amount of detail and builds a decent representation of the aircraft.

So on to the usual info;

Kit manufacture: Academy Kit No 12293
Scale: 1/48
Type: F4U-1D Corsair
Extras used: None
Paints and colours used: Tamiya acrylic, Citadel metallic.

So onto the photo's

Decals for the dash, they'll do I suppose though a PE set would be better.

So there it is a quick build and great detail for the price. As always comments and critique welcome.

I'm pretty sure I built the original of this kit. Mine had next to no detail in the cockpit and what I find are the usual Academy fit issues. I made it before I discovered putty and masking tape, but it nevertheless remains my best build to date. Lamentable but true :cry:

Yours here is excellent :th:
