WWI SiG. Interested......???

Post your name down in here if you're interested in taking part in a SiG dedicated to WWI....

We'll need some one to be the SiG Team Leader and take over the running of the individual SiGs

Once we have enough entrants we'll get it going...

There will be prizes.....

On some forums SIGs can be very focused, say BAe Harriers or variants or aircraft of Desert Storm. ATM we seem to be keeping the SIGs quite open so if you are interested in building ANYTHING which relates to WW1 please sign up for this SIG. In the future I can see we might very well specialize further but that is for later, not now. Hope you sign up!

We seem to be coming along nicely but we need some more name to put into the WW1 SIG hat so to speak. BrummieModeller Dan is sitting on the fence - WELL GET OFF IT MATE. You know you want to - time to get the whips out

This is our list so far. If your interested in doing this then please copy this list into your post and add your name to it. I would be very interested but I am fancying the Sci-Fi Group build. Mind you having said that I really fancy a nice old WW1 aircraft OK I'm in too

Come on you guys this is a chance to have a go at something a bit different and to deveop some new skills. We just need a couple more of you to sign up and we can get a SiG build going. There is no shortage of decent kits out there to choose from (aircraft Eduard & Roden) so come and join us building models of really developmental subjects!

Ha ha it slike a group build but on a more specific subject (although for the first one we have left it fairly open) hence the SIG Special interest build. It would normally be on a specific subject like p51 mustang or Star Wars that type of thing.

The ww2 GB has entailed a lot of firsts for me, so if we can get this going as well, who knows, you might learn something, lol!

I´d love to join the WW1 sig, this topic is a bit underrated in model building. I have the Black Dog German stormtrooper and ICM German infantry 1917-1918 in my stash, both 1:35 scale. WW1 is actually a very wide field, you can do figures, aircraft, ships and tanks, same as a WW2 or any other topic. However you barely see models from this time period.

We're really looking at 9-10 minimum. But who knows

If we don't get that number we may change our minds. We're getting the forum sorted out for the SiG that's starting on Friday so we can revisit this after that and make a decision if we want to go with less.

No worries Chief. I think once we get the Sci-Fi SiG started and moving along I am sure the interest here will pick up too. I love WWI stuff myself. Just something about it that I find appealing.

Well, I went looking for a WW1 tank today but no joy. I did pick up a Revel 1/72 SE 5a - probably the smallest kit I've ever bought and although I don't normally build planes, it's definately WW1 so qualifies.
I can' t copy the list of entrants to this email because I'm using a mobile device and don't really know what I'm doing. Plus I''m a bit bevied at the moment. But you can consider me as joining this build too if it gets going.

... Anyhoo I have added you to the WWI build giving us 9 people. I would say that we have enough now. BUT Lee and Paul will make the call on this and we have just started the Sci-Fi SiG build. So I would think we would give it a few weeks to let the dust settle of the SiG before we get this going. Mainly because it is the same people doing all the builds

EDIT: After chatting with Lee we are trying to space these out a bit so all the builds are not starting and stopping at the same time. Lee made a decision

Well I was impressed.

So you have a few weeks before we get this one going PHEW!!! I can take a breath.

Probably a good example of why it's not wise for me to post after having a drink. You replied to me as sprue in another thread - I was responding to that shortened version of my forum name, and likening myself to a sprue - plastic and useless. Neither of which is true, but it seemed to amuse me at the time.
