Kit manufacture: Eduard
Scale: 1/72
Type: F6F-3 Hellcat
Extras used: None
Paints and colours used: Tamiya and Ciditel

This is the Eduard Profipack kit, it went togethere without any problems. I used the hairspray tec for the chipping, I sprayed it with Ciditel Ironbreaker before nicking the wifes hairspray  then I covered it with one of the Tamiya greys (cant rememeber which one) for the dark blue I used XF-18 and for the lighter blue I used XF-19 and the white was XF-19, After applying the decals I sealled them with a coat of Klear then used a homemade dark sludge wash which I must say turned out better than I thought  , I finished it of with Tamiya flat matt

Nothing like the 1/72 scale Hellcat I built as a kid for 60 cents. Nice job!

Hi, nice looking hellcat! I haven't dared to try the hairspray technique yet. Do you paint the hairspray with a brush? It looks like the Eduard kit has more detail than the Academy kit I have just finished especially in the cockpit.

Good work

Thanks for the nice comments, The cockpit is full of photo-etch that comes in the profipack so that's where the details come from, it's very fiddly to do in this scale but a lot of fun, this is only the second time I tried out the hair spray technique and I just sprayed the whole plane and left it over night, the first time I was just doing a loading ramp and landing gear so I brushed it on, the best thing to do is test it out on some scrap plastic before you try it on a model. Thanks again
